Topic: How many dates | |
---|---|
A large percentage of single people are trying to find that very special person to share their life with. In order to find that person how many dates (with different people) do you think you have to go on. Another way to say it is how many people of the opposite sex do you think you will meet before that "special" one comes along. 10, 20, 100, 1,000, 5,000 more?

I'd say 20 more.

I'd say 20 more. Wow, then I have a ways to go and at my age this is not going to be an easy task, guess I better get started...lol |

however the older that people are, the more likely both have their priorities straight and know what they really want. This I will agree with. I don't think there's a specific number. Unless the person is lying to themselves, which happens, you can usually get a good idea within the firt 10-15 dates or so, methinks. |

Actually it's more like I know what I don't want, than what I want, then I have to give them the "boot", which is my right one... |

I worked with someone that went on internet dates but only out for coffee. She did this 2-3 times per week. She was looking for someone "special". If she went 3x/week in 10 weeks that is 30 people.
I do not know if she ever met anyone because she left for another job. Clarification: she met them per internet dating sites. |

OMG I can't count how many dates I've been on sense my divorce some 10 years ago. I've met many wonderful, beautiful, smart, funny women. But, I've yet to meet "The One." The one that accepts me for exactly who I am and doesn't mind my habits like leaving empty Dr. Pepper around my chair and preferring the TV turned off most of the time.

I would think it would be different for each person. Some will go on many dates, while others will go on a few and find someone they really want to be with.

very interesting question...
throughout my whole life, I have only truly been in love twice... granted I was together/married for 14 years.... given those odds, it's gonna be more than 10 (crap, it has already been more than 20)... $.02 |

that might depend on how picky you are This is what I have to agree on. This is the net and that alone knowing how people are. It could take a long time for some. |

depends on how lucky you are...for most of us it's 100. but for some they find the one right away. and i think maybe 50% will find "the one" in their lifetime
