Being honest, no matter what. Not sugar coating the truth when you're asked for it.

Maturity: Be able to stick with a job until it is finished.
Be able to bear an injustice without having to get even.
Be able to carry money without spending it.
Do your duty without being supervised.

what do you consider maturity?
When you see life as it really is.

My definition of maturity has changed over the years.

When I was a teenager and I figured out I was provideing more for myself than anyone else and had the physical features of a woman I thought I was mature. Not.

When I was twenty something I thought putting aside dreams of being a professional and not going into debt deeper than my ears for more school loans was maturity. Not.

When I was thirty something I thought trusting the professionsals to help me take care of my profoundly disabled child was maturity. Not.

When I was forty something I thought letting the past be the past and taking care of ageing elders before getting a life of my own was the mature thing to do. Not.

When I was fifty something I thought accepting the ageing process and thinking others would also was maturity. Not.

Not sure what sixty something will tell me about maturity but I hope it s something be sides another "Not". Maybe it will. Because I think maturity might just be learning what you don't know.
