Polar bears are very neat animals. I read that since the ice is melting
and moving they are also drowning. It's to bad people can't find a way
to live with these animals, help them out instead of removing the
animals. Unfortunately thats not how humans work. I'm afraid the
enviroment has gone to far down one road to have much hope of reversing
the process and like I said before the earth has cycles it warms up and
cools down. Some species evolve some don't. That goes for people as
well.

SammyJo27,

Polar Bears can swim 300 miles in the open ocean in temperatures that
would kill you in minutes. Polar bears are not drowning, Al Gore and
environmentalists are lying. I saw a picture that was labeled "Polar
bears trapped on a melting ice flow". The Polar bears weren't on an ice
flow, they were on a "wave sculpture", which is a floating ice structure
created by wave action and extremely cold temperatures. The people who
took the picture, an artic research and survey group, actually witnessed
the bears swim out to the sculpture and play there for awhile before
swimming back to mainland. Remember the anyone with an agenda will lie
and feel no shame in doing so.

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize they could swim that far. It's
shameful how people minipulate the truth for their own gain.

Good point, Sammy. The truth should bear its own weight. One thing that
I like about my boss's boss who hired me is that she has good horse
sense. She doesn't show partiality and when she starts chewing butt she
doesn't stop till all butts that she thinks were at fault for something
has been chewed evenly. But actually a cow chews more evenly than a
horse because a horse will pull up roots and all when chewing grass. I
guess it all depends on what you are chewing. It makes me wonder if
there is a difference on horse sense and common sense. I guess Mr. Ed
would know. I sure will be glad when she takes the dirty brief hanging
in a bag in the breakroom that ten of us CNA's missed. Quite frankly I
for one am tired of looking at and it is really starting to smell. It is
amazing the lengths one will take to make a point. Those that say hell
hath nothing worse than a woman scorned have not met the scorn of an old
female nurse.

At first it really pissed me off but then I thought of the President who
said the buck stops here. With her it is the *****ing stops here. That
makes me wonder if there is a difference in bucking and *****ing.
Sometimes the lessons from experience can be more important than the
lessons learned from philosophy and religion but then that makes one
wonder if religion and philosophy are partly learned from experience.
Take for instance the fear of the unknown and sea demons. In one sense
one can say that the Earth is flat but in another instance one can say
that the Earth is round.

One thing that I have learned from working with old dogs and new dogs is
that both can be hard to teach. They say it is hard to teach an old dog
new tricks but I have found that is hard to teach a young dog new tricks
as well. I think it might have something to do with how good the trainer
is.

It is hard to teach any dog new tricks if they are not willing to learn.

So true. There are many keys and many doors. Each key open a new door
into the mysteries of nature. Sometimes there is so much to see that a
key or a door to a pathway can be missed. Life can go so fast that if
one does not take time out once in a while to mediate one can miss the
beauty of nature. In the analogy of the dog with training it can behoove
one to praise the dog for good behavior. This can reinforce a positive
action. If all one can see is negative then nature can lose its charm. A
walk in a wooded grove can be enhanced by taking one's time and even
close one'e eyes to hear the beauty of nature like the running water of
a stream nearby. One can empower one's self by relaxing and just taking
it all in. Nature can be a wonderful treasure to experience. In its
stillness it can give awe.

Druidcraft, Druidry and Wicca, are ways of empowerment and of freedom
– not dogmatic religious systems, but new spiritualities, magical
ones, that draw their inspiration from the ancient past, while offering
ways of celebration and working that are constantly changing and
evolving. Rather than presenting us with ready-made systems that we must
slavishly adopt wholesale, they offer instead inspiration and the
ingredients that we can creatively use to fashion our own unique path to
suit our own unique lives.

The whole reason most of us are drawn to this path, rather than to one
of the mainstream ready-made religions offering ‘all the answers’,
is that somewhere inside, we know that we are not supposed to be a
passive consumer of spirituality, but instead an active participant in a
life that is inherently spiritual. We are not in the restaurant, we are
in the kitchen! Earth religions like Druidry and Wicca offer us
ingredients – ideas for rituals, stories, folklore, techniques –
that can be combined in dozens of different ways to provide us, our
family and friends with exactly what we need. They are ways of
empowerment because they put us in charge of our lives, not ways of
disempowerment with a priest or guru telling us what to do.

In the end it all boils down to this. There is you and the ocean. You
and the sky. You and the land. Now and here. The old lore is not meant
to remain preserved in a glass case. It is meant to be used, changed,
added to and improved. It only stays alive if each of us takes it, and
uses it in our own way, with our own creative additions and insights, to
help us live a life of depth and meaning, beauty and celebration, here
and now - upon this earth, beneath this sky, beside this sea.

I like what you said about being a passive consumer. I feel that is
very true. I'm headed out tomorrow to camping for about a week and
half. Peace and comfort to all.

I had wonderful time camping. I got to try ostrich. I liked it. We went and saw Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse which isn't finished. I was really up set. I can't believe they think it's ok to ruin a whole mountain to honor somebody. I can't believe crazy horse would approve. Maybe make a statue out of recycled plastic or scrap metal and place it on top of the mountain, but to cut away a whole mountain. I was sad to see it being done in this day and age.

I am glad you had a wonderful time camping. Ostrich jerkey is good. I just spent the last fours putting in a permanent phone wire. This the third phone wire I put in. I know a certain little dog if he chews on this phone wire is going to find a new place to live, lol. I put it high on the house. I bet ya I screwed and rescrewed the same little wires four times. You are right; A mountain is beautiful the way it is.

We had ostrich sausage. Hope your phone wire works out for you. Unless you have a climber of a dog you should be ok.

Have you ever tried emu jerkey? Friend brought some from California. I was surprised. It tasted great. Have you ever got angry because you couldn't get angry? I know that must sound weird but it has been happening to me lately. It was like all these communication problems I have been having with the opposite I find that I am not unique in them. It was a real insight that just about shocked me. I guess I should explain. I have been so busy trying to explain to this little female cna why it is better to just do your job and no matter what dayshift says to just smile. She thinks I am about plum crazy but when I explain how the vicious cycle works she is coming around to my way of thinking. My charge nurse, her and me had a great heart to heart talk last night and it was awesome. Just recently I explained to the charge nurse that the only way to win the game is to not play the game. Dayshift and even the director of nursing complimented us this morning on our job. The charge nurse told me that she was just so fed up and tired with all the *****ing that she was willing to try anything. She was telling me that it was interferring with her sleep because no sooner than she got home they were calling her. We had some great communication breakthroughs. Now instead of getting pissed off it is like I have this secret weapon. It might sound funny but my charge nurse is my hero. One charge nurse still thinks I am a wimp because I have trouble standing up to the cnas on dayshift and one male cna keeps me not to take any **** off anybody. It is like a have a higher power that fights all my battles for me and I just have to stand out of the way while it happens.

Some people thrive on drama. A lot of the time the way to beat them at that game is till kill them with kindness. I don't like conflict, I like things to be peaceful so a lot of time I go out of my way to just be nice. I think being nice gets you farther in life and even if it doesn't it makes me feel better about my life. I haven't tried any emu jerky, I'd like to. I enjoy trying new things.

That is the way I look at it, too. I like peace. It is good for the heart and helps keep the blood pressure down. I never liked conflict, either. Even when watching television if I see it I just click to another channel. I like a stressfree environment. A smile can be contagious, too. While at work I try to imagine why the drama takes place and I have found that people generally have a reason for being upset and I try to remember that. The nice thing about being in the caring profession is that it relieves me the burden of self. I just do my job to the best of my ability and it has its own rewards. Good karma can come back to you. I have seen it happen so many times. One way that it does for me is I sleep easier; get along with others better and have a more satisfying life. I love the country but some might find it too boring. I love the nature sounds and listening to the birds sings. It is a wonderful feeling.

I love nature, it refreshes me. I feel free and like I have no worries when I'm outside. One of my favorite things to do is on a warm sunny day is lay down outside and let the warmth of the sun and sounds of the birds and wind soothe me to sleep.

Oh, that is nice. It is nice to lay on a blanket under the trees or the stars. You know people say there is no such thing as the living dead. Evidently they have never been where I work when dayshift comes in.laugh It reminds me of an epidode of Fantasy Island where Mr. Roark says, "Smiles, everyone."laugh I am not sure what is easier sometimes; To show compassion to some of the residents when they are in the dementia or to dayshift when they have been up all night with screaming kids. For some of them it is all they can do just to make it to the coffeepot. LMAO
