theres alot of retired people that dont need to work cause they have plenty of money but they work cause they are basically bored i guess of playing golf everyday, but i got to thinking why wouldn't they be considerate and allow people who really need that job more than they do ,have it?

Now let me say that this isn't a small amount of elderly doing this its a huge amount of elderly doing this..i'd like your thoughts on this

Older people work because they believe in doing something benefical EVERY day. It is a point of pride. Retirement is a bill of goods, sold to the public to hasten death. Activity & achieving things keeps you alive & PROUD of yourself. I NEVER want to retire & if the young want a job, go earn it. There are plenty of jobs out there, go EARN one.

drinks This coming from someone who also is in Fl. It takes ambition. Don't say others are taking your jobs(unless you're speaking of china.) Create your own, start a trade or other business to provide for yourself.

While some may just work to keep busy, others do work as a means of support. Most of the retired elderly people I know, volunteer, attend workshops, play golf, and socialize, the ones I do know that work do it as a means of support. They need to pay bills, medicines, medications, etc.

I say, those with jobs, that go to work daily, perform their employment duties, should keep their jobs unless they 'chose' not to. Not to be dictated by anyone other than themselves.

Your post is wrong on so many levels...the biggest level being your misinformed opinions. Like many others, I am actively seeking work because I have a sense of pride about being able to take care of myself, not existing on a public dole or on my Social Security (which, by the way, I EARNED by years of working).

And who decides that one person is more needy than another when it comes to a job? While I try to avoid direct attacks on a poster, your comment "why wouldn't they be considerate and allow people who really need that job more than they do ,have it?" strikes me of a whiner: Mommy, they have one, why can't I have one too? Make them give me one. Make them share.

In my honest opinion...being retired is a task in more ways than you can imagine!

I had more, and could afford more things in life, BEFORE retiring!

Being retired may look like a "gravy situation", but try it for a while with less that what your used to earning.

Heh, pride. Such a silly concept for me to grasp. But I guess that is what it really comes down to, isn't it? Pride, "oh, I can't just sit here and do nothing, that defeats the purpose of my life," which is really just giving purpose to your life on more of a selfish level. Just an opinion, but working your entire life for nothing much more than what you had when you were midpoint of the job anyway...is worthless really.

ok so its fine with most that a retired person comes to your state cause its cheaper to live here and they don't need money but get a job do to bordem even though other people need that job...its ok with you.....hmmmm interesting

as for freedom has nothing to do with being considerate

as for creating my own job if everyone did that then there would be no such thing as employees

and as for misinformation uh nice try but i live in florida and do work for alot of elderly mostly from new york or canada and they have told me they are a security guard or bagboy at a grocery store cause they are bored this i heard straight from the horses mouth not a newspaper article or the internet

also i didn't state everyone does it and i also stated they have alot of money ,don't really need to work

and i know some elderly have fixed income and still need to work but i wasn't refering to them

well if you really want to get technical its smart busineess hire three retired people they'll take minimum wage parttime no benefits equals only one fulltime employee...so i can see the point, but on the other hand a single parent struggling needs it more.my point if you retire knowing your well off stay retired, basically.

it's the baby boom

the "pig in the belly of the snake"

during the 60's and 70's it was the "youth generation"

during the 80's the majority of people were the middle aged yuppies

during the 90's it was the investing class

now in the 2000's and 2010's the big demographic is the recently retired

by the 2020's it'll be the elderly requiring home health care

and then by about 2050 all the baby boomers will be dead and the drain on medicare and social security will be relieved and all the leftover young folks are gonna find unlimited resources and wealth available to them

I was also reading that the population with the highest incidence and concentration of sexually transmitted diseases is in these elderly retirement communities (like the Villages)

Get the book, "Why We want YOU to be Rich".. by Trump & Kiyosaki.

Two totally different men, one was born with money; the other MADE his fortune. Both think so much alike.

This is the attitude that BUILT this country.

WANT something.....GO EARN it, YOURSELF.
