They make WAAAYYY too much money for what they are doing, considering what teachers and nurses get paid. Sad.

Well when teachers or nurses can fill a stadium...but you're right about making too much money, recently the owners are asking the players to take a 20% pay cut and the players are resisting...looks like another standoff coming, next season may be with replacement players...egads millionaires fighting with millionaires...

Glad the Saints won their first SB tho~...bet there's a few parties going on down yonder in NO...

Good game, Terry Porter sealed Peyton Mannings fate just like he did to Brett Farve.
Drew Brees is a great qb, now super bowl champ and mvp 32/39 288 2tds no ints

So Mardi Gras 2010 begins 9 days early, and who knows when or if it will end:banana:    drinks

Actually....NEXT season wouldn't be played with replacements.

2010 could be a season with no salary cap, but the normal players would still be there.

The potential lockout would be the 2011 season.

The ratings for the superbowl have not yet been announced. Unofficially the 44th superbowl will go down as the 2nd most watch television program in the hisory of tv, just behind the finale of M.A.S.H.

^agreed all athletes and entertainers do, especially in light of the fact the teachers teach them how to talk and sign their names on the checks....it's ridiculous, course John Kruk played for the phillies in the 80's and 90's and said he couldn't believe the amount of money they were paying him, he said he'd pay them to play.....gotta love that

Go New Orleans...

Great game, well executed game plan! Boo Peyton! Thankfully they kept the ball out of Reggie Bush's fumbling hands.

I look at it from Archie Manning's point of view

on one hand his team and his home town finally got a superbowl

on the other hand they had to defeat his son (a native New Orleans kid anyway) to do it

kind of a win/win situation for Archie

it was kinda cool after Katrina

Eli and Peyton were there trucking in and unloading relief supplies in New Orleans after Katrina. supplies that they bought and paid for with their own pocket money and rented trucks to drive down from New York and Indiannapolis

so in a way I bet they are secretly ecstactic that New Orleans won the Superbowl

laugh rofl rofl rofl rofl rofl

I find the WHOLE spectacle weird....., overtly gay...and strange.....laugh

What is gay about it?

The Quarterback bending over the Center with his two hands tucked between his thighs, at the beginning of every play?

The Tight-end?

The slot receiver?

The wide receiver?

Going deep?

The down and in play?

Well the numbers have been released and Super Bowl 44 will go down as the most watched tv program in US history topping M.A.S.H. by about 30,000 viewers and shattering the previous Super Bowl record that came last year which saw 98 million viewers, this year had 106 million.
