The question is: Can you live without your Tv,Radio, &Telephone? Or, (Have you-all, ever tried to live without one of these?) My neighbors had a power outage, and lost the use of their tv, and telephone ......Oh, they are still mad.

I've lived without all (except radio). It's not that bad. You find other things to do and don't wind up wasting time watching court tv and Family Feud, ya' know?

Um, candles and lanterns, provide light for reading. Hmmmmm, MENTAL TV!? As far as cooking, it depends on where you are. I keep a couple cans of sterno to cook with when the power outages occur. Then again I have a bbq if I have time.

The question is: Can you live without your Tv,Radio, &Telephone? Or, (Have you-all, ever tried to live without one of these?) TV sucks - it's all mostly "reality" shows ... most of the news expels 30-second sound bites with flashy video. The only reason I have the plasma is to watch movies and hockey :) The radio ... I use it for news and also music. The phone ... not sure if you're referring to cellphones - I assume so, since you see everyone on their's, talking to people. I can live without TV. I could live without radio too, since we still get print news. I lost my cellphone for a period of three days - eventually found it - but life didn't come to a screeching halt without it (I do have a landline). This post is interesting ... anyone familiar with the show, "The Woodwright's Shop" ?? It's on PBS ... Roy (the host) builds wooden furniture/etc without the use of power tools (it's been on forever). |

I could easily go without a phone. I hate those things now after answering 911 calls for ten years.
TV and/or radio is a tougher choice, only because of my devotion to the Red Sox. I suppose I could get the paper to see what happened or watch online. Addiction is a horrible thing. |

I live in the NW. It rains most of the times we have power outages. Water is bo prob. And, don't ya think I am strange enough? |

I only started watching Tv when wasn't working and thinking of getting rid of it now. Have a old one and when it goes, no more.
Was more productive, creative and read more. When you look at all the literature and paintings prior to the 20th century...it was far better because people actually used their imagination more, jmho. |
