What do you think it would take to make 'heaven' on this earth?

A 'magic wand'?

The blast of a trumpet or seven?

Or a whole lot of people working towards that goal in peace and harmony.

Love, Faith and Hope to you all.

It would take a whole lot of people that carry love in their hearts
instead of contempt. People with the real will to make things better,
not pretenders.

Leaving Ignorance behind and learning its okay to agree to disagree,,,
Love, Hope, Faith, Peace,,, Living it daily with compassion in your
heart and soul for you neighbor it might not bring Heaven here to Earth
yet it would bring Alot of
peace and understanding to mankind,,, Alittle compassion can go along
way.

Heaven on earth..can it be attained..I'm not so sure about heaven but a
better place than we have now yes if people with a common goal, love
and the drive to bring it about it can be done, through peace and
harmony. Enough of us have to want it and do it.

Fred, I have to disagree with you. Until people give up putting others
in boxes while demanding that their box is the only right one, until
they start to see people just as fellow human beings, there can't be a
heaven on earth.
Heaven on earth can only be accomplished by unconditional love for all,
a place where we are all the same.flowerforyou

I think that all depends on your definition of ‘Heaven’

The Earth is a physical world. Heaven is a spiritual world. As soon as
we take on a physical body we have already forfeited heaven.

Moreover, what would it mean to have ‘heaven’ on earth?

Would we still need to eat? Work? Do things to survive? Struggle with
problems?

If we had absolutely no requirements we’d have nothing to do. On the
other hand, as soon as we are required to do things to survive or solve
problems the we begin to enter into the realm of ‘striving’ to live.

Then it simple comes down to how difficult that striving has to be
before you consider Earth not to be so ‘heavenly’.

Years ago I used to imagine a physical heaven. I was farming on Earth
and I imagined what it would be like to farm in heaven. I discussed
this with other farmers and their responses were quite interesting.

The first response that kind of surprised me was when one farmer said,
“In heaven I wouldn’t need to farm, crops would just grow naturally in
ways that were extremely easy to harvest.” So this farmer actually
dreams of no longer farming altogether.

The next farmer said, “Why even bother to harvest the food? Why not
just have a pantry that’s always stocked full of your favor foods”. So
this guy doesn’t want to do anything but eat.

Then I said, “Well why not just not have to eat at all in even and then
we won’t need to worry about food at all”.

But then there were objections that eating is very enjoyable and if we
didn’t eat what would we do in heaven? Not to imply that there’s
nothing else to do but eat, but rather to begin to suggest that there
are things that are enjoyable to do and we would certainly want to do
those things.

Well, this whole conversation got me to thinking. I, for one, would
like to continue to farm. I’d like to plow the fields, and plant the
crops, and harvest the crops, and so forth.

What would make the whole thing heaven for me is for the tractor to
never break down. (ha ha) Although, even with that though, I was
thinking that I’d still like to need to do periodic maintenance, to keep
things sharp and well-running. In other words, I value the pleasure I
get from keeping things up. I value the rewards of my labor. I find
these things to be quite satisfying.

Other things that I would choose to have in a farm in heaven would be,
prefect weather. By that I mean, just the right amount of rain, sun,
and no nasty storms that destroy my crops.

Also, as I drive my tractor sometimes I’m bother by bugs. So in heaven
I don’t want bugs flying at me. This brings up the question of whether
bugs should just not exist in heaven, or just not land on humans and bit
them. Same thing goes for snakes, etc. So now we have animals that
actually either become friendly or just keep their distance. (ha ha)

Then the thought occurred to me, that if I really had my druthers, I
wouldn’t use tractors at all buy work horses. However, in that case,
I’d want work horses that don’t mind working. In fact, the ideal
situation there would be to have horses that can actually understand
complex instructions. So I end up with talking horses that work the
fields with me as a happy team.

So here I am thinking entirely about how I would farm in heaven. How
many other people are going to be thinking along those lines? Some
people would just dance, go sailing, and have fun!!!! No work for them!
That wouldn’t be HEAVEN for them!

So how can we even talk about heaven on earth when everyone’s definition
of heaven would be so drastically different?

Moreover, it’s the nature of physical life to end. Could earth every
really be considered to be ‘heaven’ as long as people continue to die?

Abra, what if reincarnation isn't limited to just earth or even a bodily
existance? Would that change how you viewed life on earth and its
purpose/validity?

Diff,

I don’t believe that reincarnation is limited just to returning to Earth

Also, I don’t base this life on a potential afterlife anyway.

I live each moment for now. Que Sara Sara.

I believe that only God can create heaven on Earth. Heaven is perfect
and the imperfect beings that we are will never create anything perfect.
We can make life better, but we can't eliminate disease, death or
suffer.

Revelation 21:4
------------------------------------------------------------
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no
more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more
pain: for the former things are passed away.

I believe that has been left up to us to create. We have in this world
so much that has already been created. love, happiness, joy. My heaven
on earth comes in all varieties, depending on the day and how I look at
that day. Agian heaven on earth is created inside ones self based on
actions and how life is taken. To one person, heaven may alrady be here
for them. To another heaven is worth waiting for.
