46 yrs old... finally get my birth certificate.... today... i have no gdamn name! only a last name.. what the hello good is that? i am soooo upset! wasnt it bad enough my mother told me the midwife named me? omg! i have no clue what to do now!! anyone else ever have a problem like this? and if so.. how hard is this gonna be to fix?

my name was wrong on my birth certificate, the nurse wrote down the wrong middle name. Are you parents still alive, can you ask someone?
Maybe it was the protocol of the hospital you were born in? |

I haven't personally had this issue, but my older brother was legally "no name" (then my last name...my mother was an idiot ;)) for 21 years. It wasn't that hard to fix, you just have to have other forms of ID.

Take your So Sec card, Birth Cert, and go to court and do a name change. Change it to what you use now or anything that pleases you. It is a simple process.

Now you get to re invent yourself and be anyone you want... she's right you could so make a list of five names that you like and let everyone vote on them....just don't include "boobs" because that is kind of like having two names and you don't want to appear greedy |

kinda of a shock being this old and never knowing all of this...

I had a friend that finaly got her birth certificate.Come to find out it was a death certificate! She was born dead,as they went to take her back .The nurse dropped her.They forgot to change it to a live birth.
She wanted all her Taxes back.True story!! |
