It's been my experience that guy's prefer stupid women.
Then they start dating them, or worse, marry them, and it drives them crazy because you have to explain everything to them.

..I have alot of guy friends....laugh

Not saying this applies to everyone, just most.

Guys who are attracted to a less than average intelligent woman usually want to "rescue" women or they don't want anyone to challenge them.

Of the men I’ve met, the ones who appreciate an intellectual woman are more respectful of her and their egos are not inflated; they are more down to earth. In other words, they don’t have that “caveman” mentality. “Me man. You dumb woman. You listen to me”. laugh

haha, yep I get that impression too.

I just think if a man feels challenged by a woman's intellect he should, I don't know, pick up a book, and read it.
laugh

Being a graduate student has created my own little radar in dating. If I am dating someone, and I ask him to help me study for a test or finals -- and he can't grasp the material or he is not interested -- it's a HUGE red flag!!

"You use too many big words" is a turn off to hear. slaphead

How about you get a dictionary?

Screw you...tongue2 How about you stop speaking the kings english. This seems to be a common problem with "smart" women, they assume everyone else is an idiot....whoa

Play nice! flowerforyou

I am just being a brat. I also never said "everyone is an idiot" if you are referring to me as a "smart woman".

I have a degree in English. I will always speak proper engrish!

Of Smart women or love them?
I would never get scared, intimidated, maybe, into some conversational topic's as a touché to her, wink, but not scared..

But as for smart,,,,there is a big difference between a smart lady and a smart asss lady,,

If anyone carries THEIR intelligence to be Superior over a person,
as to act belittling toward them,,,then I would NOT like THAT SMART LADY,wink, or man for that matter.laugh laugh

A woman who carries her self to show kindness and respect over her intellect,,wins my vote every time.

Yet in that same note. A lady who can ever so sly, carry her intelligence into showing others she is someone for THEN not to WANT to try and keep pace with their mind over hers,.
THATS VERY COOL also...drinker

I don't care if the person is not as smart as me, heck it's more likely that they are smarter.laugh

I just get frustrated when guys date dumb girls, and then complain about them.

all people have something we can all learn from, no matter how dull or uninteresting, but we should choose to seek out those who can teach us the most, and in turn, pass these bits of knowledge on, for we all learn at different rates, and different times. Life partners, if one is looking, should compliment your growth as an individual instead of gliding through procrastination and stagnacy of growth in your life, and settling because one is threatened, or fears a drop in ego, for you certainly can't spiritually grow that way for,.....

As we drift like schooners in the night mist over the dark waters of time, carrying our life's cargo of knowledge in foundering seas, we only begin to know ourselves, let alone others, so we must appreciate safe harbor and the libraries in us all, lo' the tempest looms......

But it's not like they are predestined to be dumb, it's that they won't learn, won't grow, won't persue more than a few interests. And when one gets complacent and simple, they are part of the simpleton mold. Being a dumb and/or blonde is cute or funny at first, but as far as an LTR is concerned, it gets old soon.indifferent

The smarter the better.

Of course, this coming from a guy whose last two dozen girlfriends lost maze races to amoebas.

There are people who are truly smart, and then there are the others who only act that way. I try to avoid the latter.

Probably closer to Lab-coat smart; but blond FUN.....:) To the man that asked if Brunette smart or Lab-coat smart.

I would NEVER act like a condescending person. But I have talked to men that say "smart women are intimidating & some men won't even approach them". I never have a lack of friends (male or female) but I think it's different if anything more than friendship is in play.
