Topic: Where is the Logic? | |

If the US finds Abdulmutallab in an al Qeda training camp in Yemen, merely preparing for an attack on America, he gets snuffed out by a Predator.
If the US catches Abdulmutallab in the act of attempted mass murder, he gets to go to a Detroit jail and is lawyered up. That's how a terroist goes from enemy to defendant under the Obama administration. |

Where's the logic? |

The first instance is an example of murder without cause (not to mention a dumb foreign policy), the second is an example of work that should be handled by private security forces defending private property. |

Or, apparently, that pesky thing called due process under the law mandated by that document called the Constitution of the United States of America. Maybe it's just me, but this guy is going nowhere and the U.S. legal system is going to serve as the 'surgical strike' it was meant to be. Unlike Predator drone strikes, which have serious blowback because of the indiscriminate collateral damage they inflict, this guy will get a fair trial and be dealt with in a manner that upholds the ideals America tries to spread around the world. -Kerry O. |

wouldn't we go by the Geneva Convention instead of our constitution in these cases?

wouldn't we go by the Geneva Convention instead of our constitution in these cases? No because we are not at war. Remember it's an "overseas contingancy plan" not a war on dare I say it TERROR. Remember these are not acts of terror they are man caused disasters or what ever the hell they are calling it now. So we have to treat these people who want to MURDER like descent law abiding citizens and eventhough they arent AMERICANS they are givin all the rights of AMERICANS. |

You know those lefties are more concerned with American servicemen and women returning from Iraq supporting Ron Paul, than some peaceful muslims that have no history of violence or ill will towards them. |

The only one I read in this thread suggesting that is Fanta. The real truith is those lefties don't care about victims and only toot their horn about "terroist" so called rights. |

How many have been released? It would seem that the P/A is not a requirement, but an option. With all of the "accidental" shootings against suspects by police, I am surprised a cop with an itchy trigger finger didn't cap Abdulmutallab. |

the US government needs to get these "suspects" in court and be done with it,unless Sen. McCain wanted get back from his POW days?

There is nothing wrong with due process. It seems both sides are quite committed to keeping this "War on Terror" going indefinitely though.
Kinda reminds me of the "War on Crime" and the "War on Drugs". Only one way to win, and that's a route none of us want to travel, no matter how much we support the people in charge. |
