I just read a discussion on Mingle about interracial dating; but it’s not so much the interracial but the intercultural aspect I’m interested in. The postings in the interracial dating thread were most of the times like “no problem at all”, “discussion from the past” etcetera etcetera. I am curious if that would be the communis opinio around here if intercultural dating is concerned.

It is my personal experience that is very hard to give love a fair chance when the two communities/families at hand try to make the relationship end. In this instance it was also an interracial relationship, but I really don’t think that was the issue.

Please share your views or experiences.

They'll give you the same answer no matter how many times you ask the question. Doesn't matter how you put it, you'll still get the same responses.

I have no view on this matter because what other people do is none of my business.

I've always attributed it moreso to just being young at the time,
but am sure a language barrier, blond hair, cultural ingorances, and not being Muslim didn't help

I think with dating someone from another culture there are a lot of factors at play. Like other relationship... I think it really comes down to communication... taking everything through... knowing each other's perspective/expectations/etc.
