I work for fire crews. I clean up after the firemen hose down idiots who can't seem to play with fire without burning down everything around them. I love my job. Just waiting to pass a few more exams to get my EMT and Fire Fighting acceptance. Going to Israel this June to celebrate my big 3-0 with my baby girl. I am scared. I don't want to turn 3-0. I am more scared of the 3-0 than I am of the chance of burnt rubble falling on me. |

And taxes are coming up... And I do need a vacation.... Can you recommend an island? I've lived on Maui and now the Big Island so I know the most about them. Here's my island overview: Oahu - the city isle. Skyscrapers, very crowded, Waikiki beach, Pearl Harbor. Probably what most people think of when they picture Hawaii. They get all the best concerts  Maui - Gorgeous but crowded. It's pretty small too. You could probably see most of the major sites in a day. Great beaches, sugar cane and pineapple fields, surreal landscapes. A tourist wouldn't be disappointed.  Kauai - a nature lovers paradise. Extremely gorgeous with very few people living there. The downside, it rains a lot! Not near as accommodating to tourists there either. A magical place  The Big Island - of course this one's the best since I live here =) It's HUGE compared to the other islands. Some people absolutely love it here while others don't care for it as much as some of the other islands. Why? Cause most of the island is covered in lava rock. You won't find many sandy beaches stretching as far as the eye can see but you will find some of the clearest water in the world here because of that. Makes it perfect for divers & snorkelers. It's pretty rural and slow paced here which I like but you still have all the big stores & things you need here. The biggest tourist attraction here is Kilauea, the world's most active volcano which fortunately for me, is on the other side of the island. I think Maui is more breathtaking but I prefer the lifestyle the Big Island offers.  Hope that helped
