Would you determine what to report based strictly upon what was profitably newsworthy, or would you report with integrity?

My mom and I had this discussion about how the determination is made. Why when Brad and Angie have fallings out involving the police(as married older couple) they dont get the press that then teenager Chris Brown and Rihanna received? Or why when Charlie Sheen gets arrested for domestic abuse, he is assumed innocent but when Tiger has an accident in his car,, he is assumeed the adulterer? Who determines what life those in the public eye should live and who has the right to put them on a symbolic cross for public execution if they fall short?

First celebrity fall outs are not news, news agencies need to report on everything our government does regardless who is in the white house. There are so many atrocities that occur in Washington that never gets covered and that would be real news.

Good idea. Id love if the gossip magazines all put disclaimers on their front page that they were unfounded gossip,,

Why do you think I stopped believing the so called news, which are controlled by corporations, who has invested money in certain things? How can it be NOT biased, if it's their interest is at stake?

Think about that.

If you want to hear real news, then you must get as many sources as possible and filter out what is BS what isn't.

For example.

- You will never hear "bad" news about Time Warner Corp. from CNN.

Why?

Because Time Warner owns CNN.

Why would MSNBC not say anything bad about Microsoft?

Because MSNBC (Microsoft Network Broadcasting Company) is owned by Microsoft!

Needs more explanation? think

They are good for entertainment purposes. Both are a step up from the typical Fox News/MSNBC/CNN propaganda but still, nothing beats multiple sources, even those that report the news from an entirely different angle.

I would report the truth but, only the stories that would get the most views and highest ratings. Have to remember to appease the stockholders and CEOs.

When it comes to a story about Sheen vs. Woods. Woods wins because he's the bigger celebrity.

It's a conservative site.

They say they're non-partisan.
I bookmarked it to look later though.

IMO...they are in the public eye and they are famous. Comes with the territory. I think the media decides based on what will sell the most. If people weren't eager to read the scandal...the media wouldn't report it because then it wouldn't be news

Actually Microsoft on owns about 18% of MSNBC, the majority owner is GE.

I find MSNBC to be the best news source...Olbermann is sharp, Maddow will take on good causes.

I find FOCKS to be the worst...they are more inclined to stress over absurd clebrity news as a decoy to real news....and of course they LIE 24/7...See the doc called Outfoxed...ya gotta see a propaganda machine at work..WOW.
