I am sorry to hear that. My GF dropped her insurance over the summer when they doubled it and made it unafordable. She took a new job last month as a social worker and now has great insurance but for a while she was uninsured and was so matter of fact about it " I cant afford 560 a month for insurance" and it was true she would have had to declare bankruptcy to keep her medical insurance.

Dang!

Where do you live?

I pay $118 a month for just me.
This includes dental and vision, $25 initial for Dr visits then 100%, 20%/80% for hospital and specialists.

I pay 100% if they deem the illness falls under pre-existing condition. Missing half my right lung a chest cold might fall under this definition.

In Ohio I know I have good insurance but every contract we are reminded how much our insurance is going up my first 13 years there I paid nothing for insurance and had a five dollar co-pay we now will pay more each year for insurance as our premiums go up in twenty dollar annual increments through the term of this contract. So come june I will pay 84.00 a month and the june after that 104.00 a month and then 124.00 a month and then its a new contract were I am sure we will continue to pay an increase. So far we have been lucky and they havent tried to break the union yet.......

Do you think you'll be able to afford insurance once it is federally mandated that you are required to have it? Once it is illegal to be uninsured, the price of insurance should rise, probably dramatically. That's government in action.

I dont agree with that but realy its not the topic of this thread this is just about what type of insurance the people on Mingle have if any.

I am also uninsured. When I was employed, I payed 260 a month to cover myself and one child. There was a twenty dollar copay for office visits, but that was it. When I became unemployed, I called about keeping the insurance, but without the group plan afforded by employment, my payment would have been double.

Too true!

I can see my Insurance premiums going down now. As soon as it becomes available I'm going to opt for the not for profit plan like the Politicians enjoy.

I think many others will too, and that will eventually lead to a public option.

Im on board too. My mom was a career government employee who receives pretty much the same types of benefits and retirement that the politicians do. I will be happy when I am able to sign on as well.

But, the true costs of your insurance is what you pay plus WHAT YOUR EMPLOYER PAYS for you.

So, since everybody doesn't have employer insurance what is the point of your thread? Do you know what your plan costs your employer???

I am on Medicare and the indigent program we have here. I pay 20 dollars to go to the doc and pay for other insurance for my meds. I have no dental or vision. I pay 80.00 for ambulance service and my hospital care is not covered fully.

Have you even read the bill other than the talking points contained in Republican blogs?

all I wish to know is what type of insurance you have and what does it cost you? logicly though if my employer is paying my insurance the cost is passed on to the consumer of our products as a cost of doing business. If insurance goes down my employer benefits no? and so do the consumers who actualy buy our products
