"It's one of a great Bernie Madoff gimmicks that anybody's ever seen," McCain said on ABC's Good Morning America. "Republicans were never brought in to the negotiations. This is what you get — a split country — when American people are opposed to what we're doing."

What McCain said was an obvious attempt at misleading propaganda.

Democrats don't listen.....republicans were against the public option from day one. The debate was totally centered around that.

The only thing this bill does is give health insurance to 30 million people subsidized mostly by the government.

No, not at all....you said that by asking a question and making a smarty remark. I'm saying this bill subsidizes health care only and does nothing to address cost, skyrocketing premiums, fraud, or waste.
It's modeled after Mass. healthcare - asked the "deserving" how they like that one.

Once again....there could have been real debate except the dems were determined to have their public option. So there was no debate except over that.

The Republicans have exhibited no desire to negotiate with anyone except the Insurance lobbyists.

They have allied themselves with the lobbyist to block any kind of Health-Care reform in America from day one.

I say it's a lie!

The Republicans, by offering nothing but obstruction chose not to be involved in negotiations.

Incorrect observation...

Twas quite the opposite...

Every Republican 'offer' was slapped aside by the democratic majority...

Reality bites... Check the ammendments and what they would have done... Then work real hard to convince yourself that 'nothing' was offered...

REAL PROGRESS WOULD HAVE BEEN MADE...

Had Congress and the Senate listened to all of us.

Astroturf is what I am...

Dont' tread on me.

No. They went to the whitehouse on an invitation to be included in the idea process of the bill.

They met the Republicans one by one in private to negotiate payment for their votes.

Another lie!

If the only reason they were against the bill was the Public Option, why are all 40 voting against it still? There is no Public Option in the bill now.

To me without the public option its hardly worth the effort. I suppose a move in the right direction is a posative but I would much prefer a canadian or western europe type of medical care. If you realy talk to anyone from Europe who isnt a shrill for the aristicrates you will find them verry happy with that type of medical care.

Me too, but we got something.

Did you know that in his first year as President Bush gave 1 trillion dollars in tax-cuts to the wealthiest Americans. An act of trickle-down economics that is proven to not work now.

The Republicans should think about that when they talk about the cost of this bill and the deficit.

Well that is the trouble most republicans dont make logical connections. Like the Bush/oil connection or the Cheney/Halliburton connection. Two of the biggest disasters of the Bush years oil and war.

What will they do when all their lies, misinformation, and propaganda prove to be just that?
