Topic: 100 Reasons Climate Change is Natural | |

Here are the first 7... HERE are the 100 reasons, released in a dossier issued by the European Foundation, why climate change is natural and not man-made: 1) There is “no real scientific proof” that the current warming is caused by the rise of greenhouse gases from man’s activity. 2) Man-made carbon dioxide emissions throughout human history constitute less than 0.00022 percent of the total naturally emitted from the mantle of the earth during geological history. 3) Warmer periods of the Earth’s history came around 800 years before rises in CO2 levels. 4) After World War II, there was a huge surge in recorded CO2 emissions but global temperatures fell for four decades after 1940. 5) Throughout the Earth’s history, temperatures have often been warmer than now and CO2 levels have often been higher – more than ten times as high. 6) Significant changes in climate have continually occurred throughout geologic time. 7) The 0.7C increase in the average global temperature over the last hundred years is entirely consistent with well-established, long-term, natural climate trends. |

But can someone list even TEN ways that it hurts any of us to conserve natural energy sources and live less gluttonous lives?

WE NEED TO STOP POISONING THE PLANET WE NEED TO LIVE!!!!
It just doesn't get any clearer than that. Can we live without this planet? We need to clean up our act before we lose that which we need to live. |

I am more conservative about cutting back and preserving than he is. His house could house 50 or 60 more people. I bet the heat or air stays on 24/7 in his house and offices. |

....no matter what man cannot say that he doesnt make an impact on the planet, why anyone would attempt to debate it really makes no sense to me..i think that we should all try to cause less of an impact on our enviroment..we have only to benefit from it..maybe if we put forth an effort in a solution rather than debating we may actually accomplish something.. ..jmo |

WE NEED TO STOP POISONING THE PLANET WE NEED TO LIVE!!!! It just doesn't get any clearer than that. Can we live without this planet? We need to clean up our act before we lose that which we need to live. If "we" is "America", then we're not. Australia and China are both "worse" polluters, according to The New Ecologist magazine. If your plan to "clean up the planet" includes the government, you'd better find a new plan. According to the National Council for Policy Analysis, the government is the biggest polluter. |

the "undeveloped" nations are demanding that the US pay them something like $10 billion a year. China is including itself in the "undeveloped" nations group. Obama has said he's willing to pay it
is that fair? |

I'm suggesting the laissez-faire approach. Obama has no significant influence over China, considering they hold so much of the government's debt. |

It's his money. If a democrat criticized the spending of a Republican that is exactly what you'd say and you know it. So he urges people to cut back on energy while he doesn't...from what we know..hypocritical? yes, no different than Conservatives passing themselves off as Pious christians and bashing gays when they run off and have gay sex high on Meth *cough Ted Haggard cough* |

Tell Gore to lead by example. I am more conservative about cutting back and preserving than he is. His house could house 50 or 60 more people. I bet the heat or air stays on 24/7 in his house and offices. For anyone to claim that Gore is not leading by example, and that they are doing more than Gore is, would in effect mean that they are equipped with ... a solar panel roof, ... that they have contracted for a GeoThermal heating and cooling system (0 emission), ... that they have a rain water collection for irrigation and water management, and ... that their home meets the LEED standards??? If that is not leading by example, I don't know what is?!?!?! Here are them facts: '... Al Gore's home, which has been undergoing renovations for months, now boasts a solar roof. When his neighborhood in Tennessee changed zoning laws earlier this year, Gore was able to go ahead with the solar panel installation. You can read about the details of the battle to get the solar panels installed here. Gore is now preparing to install a geothermal system that will drastically reduce the cost of heating in his home. Other renovations on the house are aimed at meeting the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, standards established by the U.S. Green Building Council. He is upgrading windows and ductwork, installing more energy-efficient light bulbs and creating a rainwater collection system for irrigation and water management...' http://www.treehugger.com/files/2007/06/al_gore_gets_a.php#ch02 |
