My Christmas Wish

Christmas shopping has always been fun
as we find that special gift for a loved one
They say it's better to give than to receive
a message material people can't believe

each and every year we wonder what we'll get
our list grows longer, our hopes all set
eyeing the presents under the tree
mentally sorting the ones for thee

like everyone else I have my own desire
to receive a gift that'll set my heart afire
the present I want, doesn't cost a thing
requires little effort for the joy it will bring

so this Christmas please fill my request
show some love and smile your best
remember those who's fortunes are less
and may all of you have a Merry Christmas.

May all of you and your families have a wonderful and safe holiday season, and please don't forget to visit the elderly who reside in your nearest nursing homes and hospitals, for they have paved the way for our very existence. Show them they aren't forgotten....peace
