An animal charity advertising for donations ( most charities do at Christmas) However, this particular charity is urging us to donate 'just £3' per month and in return they will send you progress of how your animal is doing, e.g. "We will send you a certificate of adoption, and regular letters with the animal's paw print"................... What the Hey!! Why waste the collected funds on printing cards and buying stamps to post these cards and calendars?.............. Has the world gone nuts?!! I KNOW that an animal cannot write!!

Yes! it would appear that I have a wee bit of a problem holding writing instruments w/ my paws however I leave beautiful prints in the wet sand at the beach so it equals out quite nicely in thee end.

Hmmm if they can send papers,letters,cards on progress of animal,Thats a lot of postage,and wasted BS.. Donate to your local animal shelter, better yet,take can or dry food there,or old blankets etc...Then you know your donation is being used wisely.

That is too much like hard work,collect cans of food when it is better to get us softie folks to part with ready funds so that at the end of each tax year these charities submit huge tax returs, pay their directors mega bonuses and charge the earth to the government for "adim" services.

It's about the oldest way to run these kinds of things. No different than the people who promise the same updates when you send money to care for human children in other countries.
While I agree that it's counter-intuitive to SPEND all that money after people donate it for the animals, it IS actually kind of like Ronald Reagan's old 'voodoo economics' concept...that if you LOWER taxes, and people use it to spend and make more, then your tax REVENUES can actually increase. These folks obviously believe that offering the cards and such will get and keep more giving than they'd get just from spending all the money on the animals. Given what I've seen of human nature, they are right.
