I think it is a living book. A book that changes with each new lesson.

What have you read from the book of life?

Ah but the nice thing about this book is you have not yet finished

It must be a good book cause its hard to put down.

Silly HM, books don't have ruts, besides if the music is good that would
be a groove...........

Yes I agree AB flowerforyou

A book ... a story that evolves with each new encounter ... each new
character ... each new experience ... each new awareness ... each new
conversation ... each new learning ...

Collectively the stories weave together in a wonderous tale ...
individually I play my part ...

What have I read from the book?

I see the interconnectedness of all things. I see my own reflection in
the people I meet. I resonate with the joy, the sadness, the pain, and
the love that is another's experience.

I read the tales of compassion, of grace, of anger, of peace, of love,
of uncertainty ...

I read the familiar. I await the unfolding of the unknown which will
weave its way perfectly into the tale.

I do like to skip ahead to read the ending ... somehow that doesn't work
with this particular book. The ending changes depending upon the
chapters yet to be created ... so it is a living book as you say. Much
like the movie, The Neverending Story.

My book and what I have read of it has had times of great happiness in
the early chapters, ones I re read over and over with great joy and
warmth, then comes the dark chapters a time of sadness, emotional and
physical pain, a hard road traveled and many frightening things along
the way, slowly now my chapters are filling with light and warmth, new
things learned, coming out of a shell and breaking free, as if breathing
and heart beating for the first time.

From reading it I have learned grief, passion, compassion for human
kind, love for all humankind, I have learned I am stronger than I knew,
I can survive the hard road and still carry on with my head held high..I
have learned to love life and embrace it and that though I do not fear
death it simply is not the answer for me at this time...I am a gold mine
as AG has said and it is my time to shine and break free from the dirt
of the earth.

ArtGurl - I tried the whole skipping ahead thing but what I saw was the
illusion of all my dream come true and all my goals achieved. As
each chapter unfolded, a part of each dream and goal seemed to dissolve
and many times I didn't even know it.

CCPoet - You can survive as you learned that the shell you kept yourself
in was a confinement.

The three of us have concluded many of the same things. Skipping ahead
can not be done. When we try to set the plans in place to 'make' the
endings meet with our perfect vision, we remain in the shell.
Breaking that shell was not only necessary, but it has given us new
values in our daily walk through life. And the most amazing thing is
the moment in the day when you look into the distance that will be
tomorrow and and anticipate the possibilities of all that can unfold
without your plans, aside from your dreams and still support your goals,
even if they are sidetracked from time to time.

And did you notice how different the book is written for each of us?
Some have this tiny scribble to get as much as possible on the one page.
Others have really big writing, like they are in a hurry to get to the
next page.
And there are the ones who's pages look one like the other.

I just wish i could keep the same book and not have to start over every
time --

It is a book that we write on a daily basis.

Nomad, it is the same book. Eventually you learn to connect all the
stories you tell and find they are just chapters that tell the where and
why of "you" now.

I think it would be incredible to see how our books, chapters have
affected others. You know, those who have passed through our lives, are
not present anymore. I often wonder whose books my name or my face is
written in. I've discovered that they are not always the same people
who have a part in my memory.

It would be simply wondrous to read of others books that we have
affected ....just amazing.
