Not that that solves your current issue at hand, or that it resolves how the cops should have handled it. As with people in general, there are good and bad cops.
Well..Of Cousre. Roll the dice. Will moving help? Will a random phone complaint to a cop help? What's the difference, man? There's no consitency ...sooo,...it's all a big crap shoot, isn't it? 
I've worked many years with the local sheriff's dept and know the good and the bad - unfortunately, it's a fact of life. But I will say, you'd have a better chance in a better part of the city, as it were. Although the cop should have handled the situation differently, s/he might have had a point. You do have recourse, you know - you can report the officer's indescrepenc[y/ies]. If they have multiple reports against them, they will be reviewed - sometimes it's worth it for your trouble. |

I say you go file a complaint. I would. If the cop is being a d@@chebag to you, I guarantee it's not the first time. I don't know why people don't report cops more. It's why they continue on the way they are. Why do you think they become cops? Because they are losers that got beat up in high school and this is their only way to get power. As you can tell, I am no fan of the boys in blue.

 Sorry you had a bad experience...but one or even a dozen anecdotal incidents don't make your statement about reporting crimes true. In fact, the vast majority of crimes reported are treated properly. There are good cops and bad...but most are good and, indeed, protect and serve well. In the future, so you don't call the cops...that would be your loss But hey, it's your right. I know you're angry...but painting every law enforcement officer worldwide as a bad buy...seems a bit rash, doesn't it?

...calling the cops to report a crime is pointless. They treat you like a criminal. Civil rights go out da' window. Living in a BAD area doesn't mean yr BAD, but try convincing the cops of that! Serve And Protect...My A$$!
That's why we never called the cops when I lived back home, just dealt with the issue in the best possible way...which never really meant "talking it out". |

In the East, you have to go to a community college for 2 years and graduate before you can apply to Academy. Here it's right out of high School. Ignorance and intelligence don't matter. And it shows. We would say "New Yorks Finest" but I couldn't even thingk that here.
I have dogs and most of my neighbors do also. It's a great deterent. Then again, gun and ammo sales are at a all time high all over the country. The cops are afraid and go after the safe things Crack heads are the worst, so it's no wonder. We had crack neighbors for yeras, we would call and call over the dealing and all the addicts hanging around and they'd show up once every 5 calls. The whole neighborhood would call, it was a sorry state of affairs. And this is a small town with little crime except drugs and accidents. Sorry about your predicament- but seriously...not all cops are bad. If you do report a cop...you could very well be bringing on the whole department harassing you for years... |

I honestly don't think it matters if you are poor...I think they treat you by how you treat them! If they come to your home and your are being a jerk, then they are going to be a jerk right back! So my question to you is how did you treat the officer?
I don't love police officers BUT I don't hate them either! I show them respect UNTIL they disrespect me. My little brother is an FBI Agent and I don't think he would ever disrespect anyone. All I am saying is..SHOW RESPECT!! |

Mirror...you KNOW that not all police are like that! You always say never to stick everyone in a group BUT thats what you guys are doing. OH I am sure that some officers can be jerks BUT not all of them. I don't think they treat women any different then men, just like they don't treat the poor any different then the rich.
