I always say "nut up". Tis just how Goof rolls. Haha!

Anyways, "Man Up" or "Nut up" means not being a little wuss

Other variations:

Throw up, man, and be a man!

Bunch up, guys, and look for the ball!

Get up, you lazy boy, and go to work!

Slow up, gurl, I can't keep up with you!

Live up, guy, to you own expectations!

May I have a round of uplouse for the young poet!

Tyts up, ladies, for the young poet!

String up, man, that thong!

Work up, boy, that sweat!

Gear up, little lad, for changes are a-coming!

Drip up, you loser, and fasten up your belt up.

Hands oben und Maul zu!

Seven up! You're not a man unless you've drunk Canada dry.

What's up?

What soup? I thought it was the floor wash water.

A man is there to guide his woman teach his children protect and provide for them and build up his community

True, and also to have the newest, biggest, shiniest pick-up truck on the block.

A man is someone who will take care of their own responsibilities. A man will admit his mistakes and try to learn from them. A man will be strong and be there for his friends and family. Also, a man is a mini-universe.

So men have put more pressure on themselves than has been needed...or did the women over complicate them?

When a man puts his arms around me and I feel safe, he has just manned up.

I don't know if women over complicated men, but your last statement is exactly how I feel. That's what I want.

Maybe we are not so complicated either....

I think you are right.

A man is a male who makes you feel safe and secure whether he is holding you or not. He will take the strain on his shoulders and back and protect you and the children. He is not afraid to cry when he is hurt, he enables you to be you, by taking the world on for you.

If you're really lucky he also ahs a 6 pack!love

A man is someone who has your best interests at heart and doesn't lose sight of himself in the process. Many men can promise the world, but the follow through is the only thing that matters.

Manning up is to be accountable for your actions and to face your responsibilities.

Ok, let me add more what I think.

I think, that women are calling a "capable man" is someone that lives to his capabilities. What I mean is..regardless of the usual talk of equality and so on..it is certain that certain things women cannot do that men can do, and men cannot do what women can.

No matter what...besides the biological and physical differences, men have a different mindset and this mindset is withing all guys, regardless what they are or where they are from.
If you ask me, it's sort of a rebellious behavior, but at the same also possess the ability to be attached to a woman and that woman enjoys a feeling of protection and care. At the same time, they want someone who has a set of principles and a way that not necessarly same as his partner, but women are able to cope with it and somewhat admire him for being consistent, lol, even if he is wrong. From that, comes a sort of dependability, and that might be one of the most important part, because no matter what he does or how he does it..or what he thinks, he is reliable and devoted, when he is asked by his woman to do something that is important or necessary.

My parents stayed together for 40 years, my dad passed away and the most admirable thing I got out, that even though they fought each other many times and almost all the time had a different opinions, but when it came to the point, that she was in trouble or it was about the family, my dad was all over it and gave did his best and I could see that my mom felt this dependability and somebody she could count on all the time even at the worst moments.

That's why my mom always says. "Even if i tried i couldn't get a guy like your dad, he was very bad at many times but he was also the best person for me and did everything he could for me and you"

Don't know if this says anything for some...thinking in a similar way.
