Wondering if anyone out there has ever been interested in someone who they have the least amount of things in common with, but liked them for that reason.

Yea. At first it was new and interesting but eventually I got bored.

My first husband and I appeared to be opposites, but the term is misleading. People are so complex, their ideals and values, their habits , their interests,,,etc,,,, that I doubt there is anyone that is 100 percent opposite to someone else. WE all can find Something in common if we look for it. I was from a different 'side of the tracks' than my husband. I was raised to be 'proper'. I got straight A's in school and revered my parents and all edlers and authority.

He was raised to love God, but beyond that did not have a male influence to teach him to be a man. He spoke plenty of slang, got average grades and joked about in school and felt noone was above him or should have authority over him. What we did have in common was our family values though(besides the authority thing). We both believed in RESPECT of each other because we started out friends and that transcended all our differences. That respect grew into love and we found we wanted the same things in life,,structure, stability, love, and family. It could have been a fairytale relationship except that our maturity levels werent well matched and he didnt have the urgency to grow up once we had our son. He felt like he still needed to answer to his friends instead of his family and made bad choices to impress them. to this day we both love each other , we just didnt have the hope of a future that was secure for our son back then.

The reason why I ask is cuz lastnight I met someone who I enjoyed hanging out with but isnt the normal type Im looking for or initialy interested in.
I dont plan on stop seeing her, Just putting some thought into what I am doing and what she sees in me.
