none of that matters...everyone has a right to their opinion...what us Christians need to be doing is leading people to Jesus..and that can be done by example

it's cool I do kinda have issues with the Catholic Church it distorted and perverted the bible and the religion for the sake of power and gold but I know lots of Catholics and my girlfriend is Catholic and I don't hold that against them That's very big of you. |

The purpose of my post was not to attack Christianity. If anyone had watched the video that was the original OP you would have seen a segment of violence depicting the state of affairs in our present time. Mosty 9/11 stuff. The point of the video was to show how bad things had become in the last 6000 years. My point was that nothing has changed and that there have always been atrocities committed in the name of religion. I was replying to the OP.

slaughter? What would you call the murder of thousands of people in the name of Christianity? Yep, that's what I thought. I didn't say "Christians did it". I said "in the name of Christianity". I have never been a "holier than thou" anything. |

i am sorry i just have to say one more thing...lol
I pop into the Christian forums from time to time..and half the time i just pop out, with no comment. It seems theres always tit for tat going on back and forth. It drives me crazy. What i don't get is..why is every one on the defense when a question is posed or a comment made by a non believer? Don't we as Christians have a responsibility to answer their questions in a respectful manner? Do you ever wonder if maybe this forum is being used by God? Did you not believe Jesus when he said your faith will be questioned, or that you wld be persecuted for his name sake? I guess i just feel that we need to share our faith. And that as Christians with the Truth we should not be cocky, but humble. We are here to be witnesses for Jesus...So i guess what i ask is, when Jesus was asked a question or his faith was mocked how did he respond? I always welcome a question or a chance to be mocked, because then i get to witness. and every seed planted will grow..i mean no disrespect just felt it needed to be said. |

Christians have the responsibility to be witnesses to the gospel
but by example not so much by being a bug. and there are many who wear their religion as a suit of superiority then there are the prerennial anti-christians who cannot allow anyone to feel comfortable in their belief's without the obligation to debunk that belief, those were kinda who I was referring to |

slaughter? What would you call the murder of thousands of people in the name of Christianity? I would call it the same as thousands murdered in the name of islam, or in the name of abortion, or in the name of police brutality. The murderous nature of some humans and their capacity to find any excuse to justify it. I think the difference between the crusades and now, is that I know of no government in Europe that mandates or supports such murder. |

So, people come into a thread based on a video and then attack the person for replying. Because they don't know what the OP was about, they read a bunch of stuff into the reply. Just forget I ever posted. I apologize for offending everyone. |

okay okay I watched it
about 30 secs of it. its that same old video where the guy disapears in the middle of his sermon. POOF! the rapture it gets emailed to me about ten times a week. I see it as about on the same level as the Watchtower. Christians are not supposed to cower in fear of their God |

when Jesus talks about the end of times he foretells that there will be people killing in the name of religion. I am trying to find the scripture, i have to go to work....however Ruth you are right
|
|
|
|
But how long is the 'end of times' meant to be, It seems like men have always killed and justified it with religion.

nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom..until the truth is preached throughout all the inhabited earth. everyone will know his name. no one knows the day or the hour, except the Father not even the son. so i don't know...and yes men always have killed in the name of religion. i just trust God's plan..He has always kept his word.

the thing is God is using these people as a tool. revelation lays it all out. the United Nations is part of the plan. they are mentioned in revelation...we just have to trust God. But serious Revelation spells it all out. Shows us step by step whats going to take place. and those who know God will find Revelation comforting and those who don't will find it terrifying
