I was contacted once (on IM) by a girl who claimed she had been kidnapped from Iowa and was being forced to live with a guy in an apartment in Indiana.

I asked her "Where's the guy now?"

"At work."

"Are you locked in the apartment?"

"No."

"Do you have access to a phone?"

"Yes."

"Then why don't you just leave, or call 911 or somebody? Or send an e-mail to somebody, since you obviously have a computer."

"No, I couldn't do that."

Turned out she was just a whackjob looking for drama/attention.

Lets face it folks. Dating now a days is a joke and most of are here to simply amuse ourselves with the fake notion of a perfect mate.

They are a joke, but you do meet some great people in the forums ( here anyway) the forums on other sites Yikes!

So far I have found some really cool down to earth people in these forums. One person I can see being a great friend(I would date her if closer), another one the I kinda met through these forums is a psycho woman who has my heart already. Even the guys here are real and genuine. We are all having issues with dating, some may say we are whinning about it too but how else are you suppose to know?

Just like there aren't guarantees in real life dating...the internet isn't any different. It's just another way to contact and talk to people until you want to meet.

Aren't you contradicting yourself when you say you find the women in these forums more attractive than the ones you find locally, but you're not attracted to any here? Maybe I miss understood.

The alternative is trolling the bars, or friends of friends, or someone they know, and I never really got the hang of hitting on women in the produce section of my grocery store :)

I also have the uncanny ability to pick the happily married woman out of a crowd, and although they seem flattered, it can be disappointing.
