That is kind of my question...IF your dad is still drinking, why would you want your children around that? As a parent you have to protect your child from that kind of stuff..they don't need to see someone get drunk and talking bad and doing negative things.
IF you want your dad in your life then you need to tell him to stop drinking or stay away. YOU are now the adult and you have to supervise YOUR children...you control how your dad treats you and your children. DON'T make them feel invisible also!!!

why parents turn there kids against the other parent?

because they are selfish self centered waste disposers

and we all know what the waste disposer is

don't we

where does that waste food exit

pitchfork pitchfork pitchfork

if they really wanted what was best for the child this would very rarely be an issue

you know the line lol

I don't go to see my dad if hes drinking so i guess i don't go around on his pay day or weekends. and i know that hes not perfect but i have a half sister that lives there and i enjoy seeing her. but i also am scared that if i don't get to know my dad it well be to late and i well never know him hes had cancer and with the drinking wont surprise me if his liver or kidneys quit so i feel its now or never. i don't know why i care so much about him he never was around for me.

thanks to every one

You are right to care about him,, he is your dad.

this is where Ms Harmony and I disagree, you are right to care about him in a humane way, always be compassionate, but not just for the sake that he carries the title of "biological" father....that's so easy to be, being a "real" father is another story...wealways seem to punish ourselves with the guilt that isn't ours....sad

We dont disagree Huck. We should care about all people, however, being a part of our parents, makes it that much more logical and possibly the biological norm to care about them,, so we can better care about ourselves(being that we are a part of them).
