There are a variety of cams but they are supper easy to use. Just plug in the port and clip it on the edge of your puter. Install the program disc. Office Max usually sells a package of useful computer tools including a cam for under twenty dollars. Fry's.com has one for ten bucks. Occassionally you will get a freak that wants to be stupid but in a second you can close the contact . And you can block their access to you if they do. It is a great way to communicate with someone and get a real feel for what they look like and generally how they live because if they want to they can show you the room they are in. With that thought in mind you want to be sure you don't let someone see something in your cam that you do not want them to. Makes sense..thanks..didn't even think about that part..eh, nothing to hide so.. |

I have always HAD a cam,,but only used it once,,to a very dear friend in Canada so SHE could see her two little angles, wink my grandbabies,,,she had talked with them on the phone and recieved drawings from them,,but never got to see their faces,,,til the cam. IT was very cool and they and I were very happy she was able to see them for her first time... NOW,,,,,I DON'T CAM,,,I have talked with so many through the years who do,,,,,lol,,,lol ITS a wild and leaves NOTHING to one imaginations,,,,lol ME,,,,damn it,,,let me be SURPRISED at seeing THAT!!!!!!lol,lol

I was thinking about getting one of these...seems I'm the only one who doesn't have one. I was thinking for communication with people other than sitting on the phone, I'm not crazy about that. Are they one size fits all sort of thing, do I need to get a certain brand or anything to match my computer...that sort of thing? Any brand better than another? Seems silly maybe..but I am from the typewriter generation..electric ones about the time I got out of high school. No not terribly knowledgeable on the subject. Any suggestions... Best bet for ease of use...get a Creative Labs webcam. They are pretty cheap and really easy to get working. |

There have been a few mentioned..I'm going to go to Best Buy tomorrow with my boy and a couple of his friends..they are all pretty current on this stuff. See what we come up with. Now I'm only concerned that no one will want to cam with me...I don't want to do it with people I don't know, just my friends..no freaks. I don't want to see some guys Dick or anything....not that it would shock me, I have seen a few, but don't want to that way.

I have a webcam built in my laptop. Skype and yahoo both work fine but I find Skype is more in time,not lagging. Both you can either type or talk and see each other. I think technology is great!!!

I have had a cam for years.Used it a few times, because people asked if I had one.Now the only time I turn it on is for the person to see,i'm really the one in the pic posted.And thats about 2 mins.You know the ones to block, when they say, can I see some skin,stand up turn around.etc etc...and then there are the ones who ask you to turn on a cam, and they don't have one..sheesh.get to know someone well in conversation first,then go with gut instincts.

mine is a Logictech like mirrors
except I cant find the mount to put it on the laptop and have to hold it and type with one hand need to get a new one. you can get good ones for around $20 papersmile and I use em often. Its much better to be able to see who your talking too but beware strangers who want to show you their dingle dangles |
