I have two of them and I still have the box for the latest one I bought. It is a "Logitech Quickcam". Looks like a blue and white eyeball with a cord on it. That is what I would recommend to you.

if u get one i suggest logitech quickcams those are easy to use an easy to install an the best brand i think ever made

I have always HAD a cam,,but only used it once,,to a very dear friend in Canada so SHE could see her two little angles, wink
my grandbabies,,,she had talked with them on the phone and recieved drawings from them,,but never got to see their faces,,,til the cam.
IT was very cool and they and I were very happy she was able to see them for her first time...

I have always cammed thru yahoomessenger. But yeah you can be on Mingle at the same time as you cam on yahoomessenger if thats what you want to do. I know it all sounds confusing right now but after you get your first cam you will see how simple it all really is. The box is bluish green and white and says "Logitech Quickcam, Connect for Skype". The cam looks sort of like a blue and white eyeball Cheap Most Wal-Mart type places have them.It shouldnt be hard for you to locate one at a store near you

Oh yeah... I don't usually admit to having a webcam b/c I wouldn't just cam with anyone.. When I first got it, it seemed fun... I haven't cammed in ages but would be very selective were I to ever do it again...

So it is sounding like most have had some freak-o...I really want it to see, talk with some of you all..not for that. Does it happen often, as far as the ones who want to do the show me yours and I'll show you mine? I would think, or hope that most don't do that. I'd hate to get it and then never want to use it...

There are a variety of cams but they are supper easy to use. Just plug in the port and clip it on the edge of your puter. Install the program disc. Office Max usually sells a package of useful computer tools including a cam for under twenty dollars. Fry's.com has one for ten bucks.

Occassionally you will get a freak that wants to be stupid but in a second you can close the contact . And you can block their access to you if they do.

It is a great way to communicate with someone and get a real feel for what they look like and generally how they live because if they want to they can show you the room they are in. With that thought in mind you want to be sure you don't let someone see something in your cam that you do not want them to.

Where they are really great is talking to family and especially grands. Grandma can read them a story or see their school work or toys. Tons of fun if you have Dragon speaks because it even tells you what they are saying.

But seriously,most people I have ever cammed with just sit there and type and smile at the camera.
