I was thinking about getting one of these...seems I'm the only one who doesn't have one. I was thinking for communication with people other than sitting on the phone, I'm not crazy about that. Are they one size fits all sort of thing, do I need to get a certain brand or anything to match my computer...that sort of thing? Any brand better than another?
Seems silly maybe..but I am from the typewriter generation..electric ones about the time I got out of high school. No not terribly knowledgeable on the subject. Any suggestions...

well i had one before i just don't like them any more but the ones i always used never had trouble with was logitech brand

Cheap ones work good. The more expensive you buy, the better quality. But the cheap ones still do a good enough job.

I have never used one...is the skype thing different? The cam you see each other while typing..the skype is like a phone hookup..no?

Lori, it's true be careful b/c some people will ask you to cam and then well when they turn theirs on you get a porno type show...

They're pretty inexpensive now and it is one size fits all per se as long as you don't have a super old computer...

they are not hard to install, just plug in, put in the disc and that's about it...logitec is good...i have one on this labtop and my gilrs have one we bought for like 10.00 and installed it....works like a charm..

i only use mine to take take occasional pictures...
