The 16th amendment is controversial at best and illegal at worst. Other information on the 16th amendment can be found on-line.

Amendments are changes to the constitution, so the 16th amendment is perfectly legal.

But the 16th amendment is probably the worst amendment going. It's so easily abused and goes directly against the founders ideas for a limited federal government.

Do not go in with expectations, just think of it as a learning experience.

It all makes sense now.

The stuff covered in Zeitgeist is just the tip of the iceburg. The rabbit hole goes much, much deeper

I think you are right.

I mentioned today to someone at work that the war in Iraq was for money. She flipped out on me. scared

was or might also have been to burn off old ammunition so it could be replaced.

Many reasons one result... Loss of life... That is the beasts due for allowing it to exist.

They force you to enter a contract when you sign up for payroll at work - you know that little sheet you fill out claiming how many dependents you want deducted for (your W-2)form? That's the contract in which you accept tax deductions. Once you have accepted that part - you have little to stand on.

I knew someone who ran a business for 25 years and made a couple of million over the decades. He always said, never paid any taxes. Basically he "paid" taxes but it always zeroed out at the end.
Don't ask me how he did it..but it was all legal and IRS couldn't bother him. He also had lawyer friends from all over.

Meanwhile, they can't find Osama Bin Laden for almost a decade now, and yet if you cheat the IRS, they will find you within days, even if you go hide in the middle of the Brazilian rain forest.

lol. i suspect that former plantation owners would say it's the thirteenth amendment that "is probably the worst amenement going" as it "goes directly against the founders ideas for" slavery huh? and lest we forget the 14th. imagine the founder's rage if they'd known that black folks would be promoted from 3/5 human to full blown citizens. damn that lincoln. the founders would have had him shot what with his federal boot stepping on states rights ya think? hey, now there's a conspiracy theory for you. booth was a terrorist planted by the founding fathers in case anybody got upity about things such as liberty. lol.
