Then it will be lots of skirting around the issue with "But, I am sooooo cute" and "I LOVE YOU" with fake happy tail wagging.....or the inevitable "lovey kisses".....but in the end.....I bet you lunch that that shifty looking little pirate doesn't come up with ID or references....probably can't even give you a phone # for any friends to vouch for "him"

I don't know about fake profiles or pictures. I have met some people who's profiles were "old" and their status had changed (then why even respond to me?), or their picture was so old I almost didn't recognize them when meeting. I solved that problem by insisting on a current photo exchange before meeting. I usually don't send my best photo of me and if they were attracted to that, they are more pleased in real life and that always starts the day/evening off to a good start, no high expectations beforehand. But if they don't reasonably look like their picture, something is wrong.....run. I usually have a first meeting at a fast food restaurant (plenty of people around and no commitments). You also get to see a little more into a person after a cup of coffee (of course that could be the caffeine kicking in). But for the most part, I have met some really great people from this site. Like someone said, trust your instincts (unless they're usually wrong).

yep, me too, even though I like to find new fun pictures to change up in my profile, the ones of me are of me..and I keep them up dated.

Well, even more important than the pictures..I think anyway..are the written words in my profile. yes, the pics are me..just photos of a person, the words in my profile are who I am and I put it right out there on the table. When one reads the words they will either want to get to know me or not..won't be a whole lot of pondering to do. Just as well for me and anyone who reads it!!

That's the way it should be. What I'm curious about is how can someone who is dishonest in the beginning expect to have an honest relationship? You can't. Not a good way to start off.

Seriously though, if you look at the persons reply number and it's over 500......more times than not they're legit. As for telling if they're a nutcase, you can't do that in person either for the most part.

Time and again I have posted this photo of the real me, and each time someone doubts me............. What do I have to do to get someone to believe me?!!
