I agree that tattoos and piercings can be artful and classy expressions
but at what point does expression become tasteless, especially if its not a cultural thing? And Bored, what's up with the pics? Pic 1. Please tell that the ink washes off (reminds of that comcast commerical). Pic 2. Nice design but way too much skin coverage. Pic 3. This should come with a warning cuz its not even halloween and now I will have nightmares ![]() |

As far as tattoos go, I love tattoos on a woman, but it has to be done
with some kind of class... I can't say any of those 3 appeal to me, it's jut too much. I am a sucker for those low riding belly or lower back tattoos though. As far as piercings, again it has to be with class. I've seen women with eye brow piercings and/or studs in the nose that actually looked kinda cute, but there's a fine line to cross there. I love belly button piercings, other than that I'm indifferent. |

I find tattoos are a form of expression, the same as pircings...and hair
cuts, make up, clothes... a way of defining, of expressing externally, how we perceive ourselves to be. I have tattoos...have had piercings, ears, a 'monroe', (like a beauty spot), and eyebrow. I took all of them out for the only reason, I didnt feel they expressed who I am now, compared to when they were done. However the tattoos I have are significant to me, all of them, and I have 11, (and some are in my profile pics)... My eldest daughter, (18) has tattoos, and both of them are significant to her..and tasteful, and she knew full well, short of some surgery were permanent. She also has piercings, tongue, ears, belly button, and is her decision, same as the way she chooses to wear her hair. My eldest son,(22) has entertained the idea of tattoos, for a long time, and has selected the artwork that best describes him, and he has chosen to wait, to get a feel for if they still project how he sees himself, in a few years time. I have seen whole body tattoo work, that is nothing short of breathtaking, the finest work of art I have ever seen, and then seen equally, tattoo work, that I have found not so great, in my opinion. Once again, though, self expression, and who am I to judge? |

i was so distracted
![]() whether or not I like tatts and or piercings on a guy. If a guy has only his ears pierced (1 per ear)then I'm cool with that but I don't like hoops in a guy's ears diamond studs look better. As far as tatts go, 5 max and if he has a big tatt on his then the rest should be small to med. and definitely no Mike Tyson face tatt. ![]() |

its all personal taste. i like tats and piercings personally. but its
nice if someone tattoos with meaning. not just something dumb like mickey mouse on your ass. everything i do to my body has a meaning. |

Jess no one is judging. I respect that others have tattoos, that's cool.
I actually applaud those who do, because I'm a sucka when it comes to pain ![]() |

ahh a subject of controversy!!
However to just focus on those exact photos for right now the first two photos are a form of self expression, as to one see's beauty. One may think its too much one might think its not enough. Beauty is with in us all and we show it in all different forms. From tattoos and piercings, to words, to clothing basically from A to Z lol The last photo however is a form of cultural belief. I personally think its a bit much, however I do not believe in that form of culture. MY OPINION....LOL and in conclusion, if you (the bearer of this form of art work) truely believes it makes you whole, beautiful, etc etc. I will believe with you. As that is your body, your art work, etc. etc. |

I guess I'm a little different. I love piercings but I like to change it
up. I have my lobes pierced, currently have my rook, daith, and hood pierced. I have had other places pierced but prefer to keep them to a minimum at a time. (see here: http://www.infinitebody.com/gallery/ear/mmear2.jpg) I think some piercing are a great way to express individuality and unlike tattoos, they are not forever. It does mildly hurt when you get them done but it's almost addicting. Once you get one you think about more and more.. and so on. A lot of cultures use piercings with certain pressure points. For instance, my daith piercing is known to be a calming pressure point. Not sure if it's working but it's kind of a neat idea. ;) But in the end, each to their own. That's why not everyone works out together because there is one person who fits just right in what we view as ideal (and likewise). |
