...maybe the earth is just going through a cycle..sort of like women...anyone got a GIANT maxi pad...smokin

Yes. It is. Just like it always has. Just like it always will.

in that case, not sort of like women cause we do get to stop eventually. Not until after we almost lose our minds and drive the men crazy...

I am not exactly sure who you think is a hack but the Guardian is not a reputable source.

tell us what is the "reputable source" .

If you want the reputable source for the oceans warming, it's Wood's Hole. The oceans drive most of the Earth's weather. Some of their data was collected with help from the US Navy.

The source of atmospheric data is NOAA and NASA with some help and data from the FAA and other countries version of the FAA. The measurements of the Earth's temperature did not come from some organization in England, although I am sure they contributed.

You don't get it. It's not about what the measurements were, but how they manipulated the raw data after the measurements. You can bring up any website if you will, but you are most likely seeing something that isn't correct or even falsified.

The hacked emails show (and so do other scientists point out) that there is a fraud going on..regarding scientific research.
It's not what the data says, but how you interpret it and it's all have to do with how much experience you got. And even if you got a lot of experience, if you are easily blackmailed or paid off to say what some political party or ideology wants you to say, then you are a charlatan.

Definition of a "charlatan"

A person who makes elaborate, fraudulent, and often voluble claims to skill or knowledge; a quack or fraud.

It has, Just CNN and MSNBC haven't said it, and for 95% of the people that must be not true if it's not CNN or MSNBC who says it.

Eons ago when the Iron Lady (a.k.a Margaret Thatcher) was in power she supposedly pushed the global warming theory to justify the closing of the coal mines.......

And here in America, the government keeps pushing the issue because it will enable them to reach even deeper into our pockets and gain even more control of our lives.

Not true at all.

Tell me how they are going to get more control from us for this issue? Paying to keep the planet healthier should be an expense we are all invested in.

Forcing us to buy what they want us to buy, for one.

Did ya forget that a few communities outlawed incandescent light bulbs?? What about having to replace them with mercury laden flourescent bulbs?? Think that's really good for the environment when they need to be disposed of??

What about the new restrictions the government put on an already heavily burdened auto industry with excessively high mileage standards??

What about the screaming they did for Ethanol production before they took into consideration what would happen to the price of corn??

You go right ahead and let them take more of your money for something that most people would do voluntarily. Keep telling yourself it's ok for them to dictate things in your daily life.

The Socialists will thank you.

This would be hot news if verifiable for everyone. So there is a reason it is not being covered. Not a conspiracy I am sure.

No, you don't get it. If you go to the Wood's Hole site you can see what Wood's Hole did with the data Wood's Hole collected. Unless the English were falsifying collected date, which would show up as a data acquisition abnormality anyway over a small area, any conclusions they made would have minimal impact in any case.

The English were apparently arguing among themselves as to the ramifications of the collected data and what to do about it. What I gather from the Wall Street Journal, the news is about the rancor, not whether or not the Earth is actually warming.

Once again, if you would like to understand the topic of global warming without the politics, go to the Wood's Hole site and see what the oceans are doing.

It's currently being covered by over 500 news outlets.

Kinda makes one wonder why CNN and MSNBC are so late to the game, doesn't it??

Very funny on the socialist thing.noway

Most of what you listed doesn't effect everyone and can be worked out with a little more effort on some parts.

Not making your point of control or cost.

It still hasn't been verified yet so might be jumping the gun anyway.

OMG!!! Before the whole Health Care issue started to warm up, the government had started making noise about creating a ban on incandescent bulbs nationwide.

They are already wanting everyone to drive electric/hybrid cars...not taking into account that batteries aren't worth a crap in freezing weather. Think that wouldn't affect someone like me when they start taxing me for not owning one??

These things will effect everyone. Period.

The Farce is that Human activity is solely responsible for the alleged "recent" changes in global temperature and the ice caps and the polar bears.. blah blah blah..

the earth does naturally go through multi-frequency cyclical variations in mean global temperature.

Look up Haq et al "Chronology of Fluctuating Sea Levels Since the Triassic", 1987.. that's a good place to start if you want to know something about it from a real scientific perspective.

Where does the Constitution say that the government is entitled to regulate such products? It's not in there. The closest thing you'll find is the interstate commerce clause-and this clause uses "regulation" in the sense of "to make regular or normal" rather than the beaurocratic sense that you use it.

"Warming" isn't the issue, as it is normal. MAN-CAUSED warming is the issue, and there is no objective evidence of this that is universally accepted by experts.

But every living creature affects it's environment, right? For good and bad usually.

So since we are growing across this planet in leaps and bounds, it makes sense logically that we are affecting the environment.

Even without scientific information we know we are poisoning the planet, right?

So what does it hurt to try to lower our negative affects on this planet?

I just don't understand the stall on this subject.

There is nothing to be gained by someone lying about this anyway.

We are poisoning what we need to live. We need to stop it.

No, we don't know that we're "poisoning the planet". We can find plenty of "pollutants" in nature itself (mammals who exhale C02, natural undersea oil seepage, volcanic ash, etc, etc). The reason you don't understand the stall is that you don't understand the Constitution. (I've given you plenty of links and reading, yet you remain ignorant, which is pretty sad for a person your age )

It grants us unalienable rights to do things like drive cars and so on (more aptly, it recognizes these rights as belonging to the individual and unalienable, and only grants certain rights to the government). Thus, unless a law is passed by Congress, humans can do whatever they please within the law.

If you still don't understand all this, re-read the Constitution, the Federalist papers, and the writings of James Madison and Thomas Jefferson.
