phone calls or email? Could it be that this attitude of yours is
causing women to not respond to your phone calls?

I agree 100% with that portion of Lulu's post. I usually choose to be
courteous with people, but I don't -owe- anyone any courtesy . Least
of all someone who will seek to take advantage of my courtesy.

Hey, you go, man! Go teach the world to be courteous. Its your duty!
Teach by example, showing the great 'courtesy' of making repeated,
apparently unwanted phone calls.

I generally don't answer mails where people obviously haven't read my
profile, and I don't feel I have and obligation to answer.

I hope there isnt a dress code

And I get some lovely abusive mail over that one...

It is my prerogative.. I do not return mail to those that don't post
here in the forums...my choice...

Courteous...ha!!!! All this ranting about courtesy...half of the
bashing, and leaping on the negative in the threads, shows no common
decency wharso ever,...and people want to slay Lori over her not
answering every mail she receives???

Seems there are some forms of courteous, and then there are others...

That's what I mean, people just don't read, they assume, and that's a
pain in the butt.

So why would I answer????????

Some of the mail was down right disgusting, as was some of the IM's..

In reality, outside of the forum 'locals' emails, I have received more
rude, abusive, or suggestive mail, than I have pleasant...and I looked
all through my profile and pics, for where it said, "talk dirty to me,
baby"...or 'abuse me baby'..

But the strands of garlic, and the wooden stakes seem to be working
well, now..

Hmmmm I havent received any abusive emails yet!!! I must be doing
something wrong.....

Jess, you get abusive emails for the fact that you let people know, UP
FRONT, that they will be wasting their time to email you?

I think its great that you let us know up front, saves people time! I
guess you just can't win.

My first email sent to an as-yet-unknown woman is usually less than 30
words, since I keep hearing these stories of how women on here don't
respond to emails, I'd rather not waste my time. And yet, so far, every
woman I've mailed has responded.

How would you respond to this one then:

You look like a little lady, if you are not, don't answer.

That was one of the obnoxious ones I got, there were plenty more,
like how long would the drive from here be to where you are.

I have had very few abusive mail, from the Community, forum family, and
gawd knows at times, I incite it, with my posts...

Nearly all of it has come from the 'catelogue' section, the 'one
dimension' section of the site...

Perhaps people don't like to be told, they prefer indirect rejection...

Weird..
