I was talking to a friend last night. She was so upset and pissed that she found old pictures of her boyfriends naked ex girlfriend on his computer. They were not sent to him recently, they were back from several years ago when they were dating.
He claims he forgot he even had them. She told him she wanted them deleted, which he did delete them all.
But she constantly accuses him of wanting to cheat. Not that he's cheating, but that he WANTS to cheat.
She kept using those photos as an example, why would he keep those if he didn't want to see other naked woman and still want to sleep with them?
So I asked her... do you have any old love letters from an ex?? She said well yea. I said well there ya go. Same thing. She said no, it's not even close.
My point is that they are both ways to hang on to old memories. Guys in general are more visual and sexual than women are. Women are more empotional.
Guys would keep an old photo of their naked ex and a women might keep an old photo of her and the ex around a campfire cuddling.
To me, the emotion behind it is the same.
So I told her she can't get mad that he had those photos and long as she keeps her old love letters.

And that's about the time she really got pissed

Good for you, Jill, for being a true friend and telling her like it is rather than just siding with her. She may not appreciate what you said but she should be grateful to have such an honest friend

apparently because I'm here friend and also a woman, I'm supposed to be on "her side". I told her I wasn't on anyone's side. I was just telling my opinion on the matter. Then I asked her, how will you ever resolve anything if you're only getting biased opinions and help?

Same thing.....if he has to delete the pics...she should have to burn the letters....jmo

That's what I said. He totally agreed. He didn't like or even know that she had the letters until I brought it up. But, I could't just sit there while she's yellin at him for one thing and hiding another... I didn't like throwin my friend under the bus like that but I totally disagreed with everything she was doing.

Atta girl! Good advice...good friend. She'll come around...or not! Often when people accuse someone else of something - like your friend did about her BF's"wanting to cheat" - they're projecting what they might do in that situation.

I think her biggest problem was that the ex in the photos was very skinny and pretty and she still hasn't lost her weight from her pregnancy over a year ago... She's totally insecure. She is a very pretty girl but has 0 self esteem.
