Screams on numerous occasions has a beautfiul smile and a very colorful personality. Very handsome little boy who loves to give kisses and hugs. First come first serve. Wow. Such a serious over reaction to this.

Ok...check this out.

I am sure that, at some point, the mother or father that posted that ad got frustrated at the kid and said something along the lines of ...

" I swear if you don't knock it off I am gonna sell you to the first person that wants you. "

To which the kid did one of two things. Either replied " No you won't " OR kept misbehaving.

If it was a case of " No you won't ".....then the parent probably put the ad up just to show the kid and say " Told ya I would. "

I would agree that it wouldn't be the BEST way to handle something with your kid...but I have seen a whole lot worse things.

Get a sense of humor, people. Stop assuming the worst of people.

When you don't assume the worst is happening, that's when it turns out to be what is really going on. (the worst) If it is a "joke" it isn't funny, is against the site's rules, and in very very poor taste. While I hope and pray that it isn't serious, the internet has all kinds of people on it, not just the safe kinds. Ok, the internet has all kinds of people that can afford access to it.

It is sad that evil people exist but I assure you that they do and selling a child is something that happens every day in this country.

What is tragic is we have vin numbers to track cars but no real system to track children.

well, it's fictional, as it's advertised in Grand Theft Auto 4, but the Trackify microchip gps transmitter isn't exactly hundreds of years away technologically speaking. With all the dangers out there, I could even understand some parents wanting to implant a microchip at the base of their loved one's skull. (So there is nothing to lose) This would enable them to be found within 1.2meters, where-ever they are.

I wouldn't think that the ad was so sick, if it didn't mention how the kid loves to give kisses and hugs. that is a pretty freakin' BIG RED FLAG.

And when you always assume the worst, you'll always live in fear.

Just the way the powers that be like you. Weak, fearful, and wanting THEM to do something.

I didn't say the ad wasn't done in poor taste.

But the first thought in my mind wasn't " pedophile " either.

I don't think knowing that evil exists and being alert to to suspicious behavior necessarily means living in fear. I have seen just about every form of messed up people that exist and I make reasonable efforts to avoid trouble but I live my life seeing all the spectrum of life includeing what is beautiful in the commonest of things.

maybe i'm naive, but it wasn't my first thought either.

i'd have figured it to be someone taking out a personals ad and trying to be funny with regards to parenting and making it known to any prospective partner that they have a regular child who misbehaves on occasion.
