People beware, there's scammers about trying to get money from unsuspecting people on online dating sites looking for love. Common sense tells you to not send money to anyone you don't know, but be super cautious anyway. I would hope most would be aware enough to not fall for it, but I just want those who may be trusting enough to make sure they know who they're talking to before they commit any money. If they can't afford to come see you on their own and/or live far enough away you can't just go get them... be extra careful.

Please report any scammers on this site. We can't do anything about them if we don't know about them.

Scammers are everywhere if anyone ask you to go to yahoo within the first 1-3 e-mails report them.

Why most of the scammers want you to go to yahoo is mainly due to nothing will happen to them there.

Here if you report them by their profile which the report button is to the right of their profile. Click on Report User and check the scammer box if you like add what they have said or you can report them by the e-mail it' self at the bottom of the e-mail click on Report User.

If everyone will help out with this situation the site will follow through and deal with those that are scammers and make this site a better place to be.

So what ever you do, do not go immediately off site with those you do not know or give out your personal information. Things that happen off this site can not be dealt with within the site... don't be a victim instead help solve the problems.....

I have been contacted numerous times by scammers (do I look gullible or what)!!! Its amazing how similar their profiles sound alike. They are pretty easy to weed out though. One clue is they tend to avoid answering specific questions you ask of them. Its too bad there are so many of them. They make the honest people more hesitant about staying on a site like this. Kudos to Mingle2 though... I think they do the best they can to stay on top of the scammers. I find most of the ones that have contacted me are "Deactivated" after a couple of days! Best of luck to everyone and "be careful out there"!

I saw a report on ABC or NBC earlier talking about it and how they were starting at the pay sites. Since this is a free site, its probably a bit less of a risk because they realize that most the ppl here probably aren't going to dish money out to them if we wont' dish it out to be on a pay site...lol.

oh you would be surprised laugh Just be aware. Don't go straight into yahoo (or other IMs) and do NOT give money drinker As said above...yahoo and other sites do not monitor very well. If you run across someone here, please report it.

I think what puzzles me most is why anyone WOULD give money to someone they don't know and how these scams actually work. Haha, I may not be the brightest bulb in the box... but sending money to ANYONE is risky enough, certainly not anyone I've never met.

Believe me it is not always they get you to give money. They will gain your confidence and get your personal information. At times they may even tell you that they are going to send some stuff to your house then get you to send it to them. This is due to they are scammer others credit cards they charge it send it to you then have you send it to them within a new box ect the last trace is to you. It's your word only when it comes down to the cops......

There are many ways to scam others not always by having you send them money. At times they will say they are going to send you a check have you put it in your bank and then have you send them a cashiers check. Many people figure if the bank let them deposit the cashier check they sent them it is good,,, Wrong way to think they have reproduced the cashier checks so well the bank do not catch them and it takes then up to 6 weeks at times to figure it out. By that time they have already gotten you to send their money back which is normally half or 3/4ths what they gave you.

By the time the bank realizes the cashier check is fake you have already sent their money back and now your out what ever you sent them for the check is no good and now your being investigated as well. Nothing you can do but pay the bank back..... It happens and has many many times

Yeah the good news is though that those kinds of things are red flags to most people. They would be to me...lol, and thats why I don't pursue anyone who lives more than an hour or so away.
