OOk, so Ive actually walked into the "whos more moral" debate, right?
Or is it the MY system works better than yours, and therfore belongs on license plates more or less? LOL.. People if perfect would not need religion, or a God, or any higher power. So athiests are the highest we have of moral fiber, and therefore should be recognised more in this nation? The belief in oneself more than a power greater than ones self has been proven to be a better concience, therefore Christians shouldnt be able to have a cross deemed ok by government on license plates? Some people worship the sun, actually alot of them do.. are we banning that from the Florida license plates too? Hell lets ban the sun from the sky! GO AWAY SUN! WE DONT BELIEVE IN YOU! There are alot of animals that kill viciously that we have on license plates.. we gonna ban those? How bout them there slogans? Alabama.. "share the wonder".. *gasp* just what were they wondering? Alaska, "beyond your dreams, within your reach" *gasp* omg what about the people who dont dream? Arkansas "Land of opportunity".. hey man, everyone doesnt have a job in Arkansas. Colorado "where the colombines grow" Alot of bad stuff went down in Columbine... Connecticut "you belong in Connecticut" You tryin to tell me where I belong? I RESENT that! Delaware "its good being first" Delaware isnt first at everything ya know. OFFENSIVE Florida "the sunshine state" This state has a rainy, and hurricane season... Now we dont like to be lied to. Hawaii, "the land of aloha".. thats one not the national language, and two Im not a fan of greetings, and salutations. BAN ITT!!! Iowa: "you make me smile".. Frankly Iowa.. you make me feel like ****, and your REALLY COLD. FLIPPANT, and UNREALISTIC PROVE IT SCIENTIFICLY THAT ITS UNIVERSAL! Kansas "as big as you think" Ok.. we dont promote free thinking in Kansas! Louisiana "fall in love in Louisiana" One, I dont believe in love, and two, i am being excluded! I have never loved a single thing in my life! Maine.. "where Americas day begins".. ********! mine begins in Texas. OHHH LOOK OUT!! Massachusetts "THE SPIRIT OF AMERICA" O how dareee! Only I own my spirit, and mines completely different than yours.. If I HAD a spirit, but I dont, I dont believe in spirits, thats a fable! That doesnt represent me! How bout I LOVE New York.. once again..What is this love you speak of? Oregon: "things look different here". You callin ME different? Things look the same to me! Yeah, I left out some states.. ok.. for those just "knock knock, there is no God" Now just LOOK at ALL THOSE OFFENSIVE SAYINGS! EVERYONE does not believe them to be true. Now lets work on state birds.. and look at THEIR behavior.. they kill worms ya know. Freedom of religion should be abolished, because some group of people dont believe? Yo, you dont want this anymore? Freedom of religion is a principle that supports the freedom of an individual or community, in public or private, to manifest religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship, and observance; the concept is generally recognized also to include the freedom to change religion or not to follow any religion.[1] Freedom of religion is considered by many people and nations to be a fundamental human right.[2] Thomas Jefferson once[when?] said "among the inestimable of our blessings, also, is that ...of liberty to worship our Creator in the way we think most agreeable to His will; ..."[3] In a country with a state religion, freedom of religion is generally considered to mean that the government permits religious practices of other sects besides the state religion, and does not persecute believers in other faiths. I mean, you know, by all means cut your nose off to spite your face, but YOUR freedoms, and rights to believe and practice what you choose is at risk here as well. Hey, while were at it, lets cut out math, and science, and english. Lets cut out all use of language, because of its origins, and history. And SPEAKING of HISTORY.. isnt that HIS STORY! Youre leaving out WOMEN!!!! *GASP* Lets just all use a series of random grunts to communicate, well ya know, if we can get away with it.. until SOMEONE gets OFFENDED. |

As much as the next heathen, but this is just stupid. COLUMBIA, S.C — A federal judge ruled Tuesday that South Carolina can't issue license plates showing the image of a cross in front of a stained glass window along with the phrase "I Believe." U.S. District Judge Cameron Currie's ruling said the license plate was unconstitutional because it violates the First Amendment ban on establishment of religion by government. Within hours, a private Christian group said the ruling doesn't stand in the way of its "plan B" to get a similar plate issued using a state law that permits private groups to issue tags they design. The fight over the plates started shortly after Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer helped push the legislation through in 2008. Groups including Americans United for Separation of Church and State and American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee challenged the state's ability to put a religious message on a state license tag. not stupid in the least. the first amendment clearly states that "congress shall make no law recognizing the establishment of religion". court precident refers to this concept as "separation of church and state". in otherwords, it is illegal for a government body to recognize a religion by printing and issuing material such as a lisence plate. simple really. It is stupid regardless of law, if a private group wants to pay for the printing then no big deal. |

problem is you got your Christians and you got your radical Christians and you got your non-Christians and you got your anti-Christians the anti-Christians will go wayyyy out of their way to put down or restrict the Christians every chance they get As a pagan I take great offense at Christians, I find them to be among the biggest blowhards around. I went to my sisters church to hear some jackass named Joel Olsteen or something like that and I wanted to pull his lungs out through his ribs after 10 minutes of his nonsense. see? thats just what I was talkin about what's it to you? why do you care what other people (maybe even fallaciously) believe? we are all responsible to and for ourselves alone. not for what anyone else believes good or bad right or wrong |

Yes the bigotry against Christianity has been for quite some time! Someday we may have equality for all but as it stands now people can post threads of a bigoted nature without people batting an eye! The ignorance and intollerence of racists and bigots just need to stop! White christaian males are far too often the scapegoat of society today and openly discriminated against!!

Whenever someone feels they are right and others are wrong and others should either convert or something bad should then happen to them, you have a problem. Christianity actually helps this philosphy along with their ideal that those who do not convert will deserve punishment ie hell, wrath of god, etc... |

Not even!!! Reread my statement. The statement was intolerent because it ignored the that Christians are people too and only "measured" bigotry based on what they are use to. It's an ignorant statement because this has been going on for a long time! It is a bigoted statement because you basically in a nut shell laughing about it as if bigotry is a joke! |

1. I love Joel Osteen, a very inspiring and positive speaker.
2. Why the focus on white christian males in a state vs religion debate? 3. Who decided that 'In God we trust' is non secular but 'we believe' is not? Kind of strange, in my opinion. Id say so long as the government doesnt EXCLUDE any religion from practicing it isnt establishing one religion over any other. In the end though its all up to interpretation of what was in the 'hearts' of the founders. Interpretations which seem to be quite diverse,,considering this thread. Oh, and reading the thread further,,,I would like the verse in the Bible that states non believers will go to Hell? I think maybe that those who dont believe I have a home wont be coming to my home and those who dont believe in Heaven wont be going either. How is that hateful? Seems more like common sense to me. |

I don't trust Joel Osteen
he is TOO upbeat and cheerful and positive. It just strikes me as phony I don't trust ANY preacher who has a big cathedral of a church and thousands of congregation and all that money and power. Thats NOT what a preacher is supposed to do give me a little country church with ten or fiften in the congregation and I'm more comfy |

I think he is an example of how a Christian should carry themselves. It doesnt mean he is always positive or cheerful, but certainly when in front of the congregation it is the example he needs to set. I like a good message whether it be upbeat like Osteens or thought provoking and empassioned like Rev Wright. |
