aye but you can not be provoked unless you allow something to provoke
you.

And if you do not allow it the end result for the delibrate provoker is
bitterness at their failure.

Bitterness is also something that comes from inside.

And is a recriprocal result of attempting to manipulate a person that
can see and ignore said maniplation by not responding with or allowing
anger.

This is true but does this give a bus pass for others to disrespect each
other..NO.

Bored,

Try to quit thinking religiously for a second, and just think purely
philosophically.

YOU have the choice to be happy or not.

Period.

Bored - I named you because we had started a dialogue and it felt rude
not to acknowledge you ... BUT my posts were intended for everyone.

---

There is much to be offended by in the world ... I think sometimes we
spend too much energy looking for additional reasons.

Once again though comments are interpreted through our own filters. I
took no offense to ABs comment and viewed it as highlighting the
difference between a mature and immature sense of spirit from his
perspective. Others may view it differently.

Abra's comment about the ability to carry on an impartial conversation -
it felt rude to me in its delivery but that is my own reaction filtered
through my own belief systems. I can see the truth in it though for who
of us is without filters and who can truly be impartial? We are all
attached to something...

I feel no great emotional investment in either statement. That is the
difference.

When my reactions become highly charged emotionally - I start looking
for the button...

You should hear me in person.

I don't just type this way I speak also in this fashion.

As the words enter me so they also go forth. I never claimed to be
versed in versed in english by its proper rules.

The structure of modern english leaves a bit to be desired when it comes
to communicating.

"Abra's comment about the ability to carry on an impartial conversation

Can we step outside of "belief systems"

As a person I felt Abra's comment was rude in general. Like you
menitoned the way it was delivered

he used "they" to categorize all believers as incapable to communicate.

It's been a great conversation with you. Thank you for clarifying your
message was for EVERYONE. For friends, fellow users, believers, non
believers (atheist, agnostics)

By clearing it up, it is directed towards everyone. So next time you see
me respond, you know everyone is accountable for their words towards
others and we are responsible for how we react.

Personally, I bite my tongue and say what I feel the best without
arguing or using rude terms unlike many users on this site.

"he used "they" to categorize all believers as incapable to
communicate."

I interpreted his comment differently...speaking more of the ability to
be impartial - to which I replied - can any of us be truly completely
impartial?

As for stepping outside of our belief systems? Yes we can but we must
first become aware of them ... most of them live in the realm of the
unconscious...

So how do find them?

A great way is to look for your buttons - they reveal what goes on
beneath the surface ... and so we come full circle...

Good luck on your speech! flowerforyou

Yes, I have been snubbed by religion and the church. Not just church,
but those that I will not associate myself with.

As well as I know ArtGurl...and if my view holds any
weight...whatsoever...anyone who has put false darkness behind her
intentions has been blinded by a bad source...I can assure you.

For you can recognize a tree by it's fruit...

She bears nothing but love and understanding...for those who can accept.

For out of the overflow of the heart...the mouth speaks.

Oh, my, I'm always late to these things.

Sherri/Artgurl - I think your writing is impeccable. You present a
perceived problem, offer logical opinion on why it can be seen as a
problem and then offer possible solutions. What a fine teacher you are.
You have effectively defined what I do. I learned many years ago, that
I have the buttons you speak of. It was through time and self analysis
that I discovered how those buttons work, and why. Still there are
times, even now that I let a button be pushed.

The amazing thing I learned along the way is, if I stay in control, I
can learn about another. And often with that knowledge I can reverse
who is pushing the buttons. It is often a useful tool when dealing with
the brash, the ignorant and the young, for it can be quite an effective
tool for teaching.

I just wish you hadn't spoiled my secrets.

love your writing.

Thank you Michael flowerforyou

When sharing in a format like this, I am clear in my intention while
writing but I can't predict all the filters and belief systems through
which others will interpret the message. Sometimes it is misunderstood.
I appreciate that you see my intention for what it is.

Red - flowerforyou

Most humble apologies for sharing trade secrets. laugh

My hope was to share a perspective that allows for some emotional
detachment - oh my! what a peaceful place this would be with less
reactionism.

Thank you!
