Compromise is undoubtedly the key to many problems we face. We are so
set in our ways that only our way will do. And so arises the great
problem in dating and relationships. If only we could compromise, then
we would be better placed to find common ground and work things out.

What if, for example, you preferred to spend every night at your place,
and she preferred to spend every night at her place? Is that something
regarding which you would 'not compromise'?

Or how about questions like, who cooks dinner? Or who cleans the
dishes?

Humm well it all depends on what it is one is talking about they will or
will not compromise with. My values, my respect, the way I raise my
kids, my friendship, no way I have my values in life and they are not
there to compromise with.

Now if it is the way I cook a certain meal, or how I arrange a room or
what vacation we decide on or how a room is decorated hey I can
compromise with another so it will work for us both.

Regardless there are things that can be and some that cannot be. Each
person has there limits of what can or cannot be and should be respected
for there values in life itself.

for me...i have to know what you expect me to compromise. i'm not good
at giving way on areas that i have actual knowledge in...i'm not
compromising my integrity for ANYone...nor my self-respect.

i will, however...listen well and make up my own mind. i don't care
where we have dinner...or whether we see one movie over the next...or if
we sleep in or not...those things are small potatoes to me. it's when
we get into the are of the children...that i refuse to compromise. i
WILL raise my kids vegetarian, or not have them. they will NOT be
raised with corporal punishment, or you won't be near them. they WILL
be raised to be seen AND heard...and to have their own beautiful minds,
as they are little PEOPLE, not toys.
