Jess, from the very first line of this thread I think there has been
mis-understanding, a purely semantic one, due to not knowing what kinds
of compromise we are talking about, and in what circumstances.

These examples you give excellent examples of things we might choose to
never compromise.

I said the set of things to never compromise should be small... but I
should also have said that the set of things should be -well chosen-.

to get alittle you must give alittle
compromise is a fact of life
you can't be selfish all the time

Forgive me for over-simplifying...find one who agrees with you
inside...lol...then the compromises are easy..."Honey...where would you
like to go this weekend?"

If it seems like work...IT IS....and if I am not drawing a
paycheck...hmmmmmm

I'm starting to think there are vast cultural differences between
Australian and Americans...

And yet I have heard over and over how much the Australians, and their
attitudes and their way of life is so very admired by Americans...and
Steve Irwin's name comes up a lot.

We see relationships, as with any or all people.

Not locked into only seeing romantic partners as the only label allowed
in relationship sections.

We see the black and white, the shades of grey, and we dont buy into our
own personal propaganda...(ego) country, nor people.

We do not think we are the be all, and end all, as a culture..and have
the strongest sense of humour, and laugh most at ourselves...why?

Because we don't take ourselves so bloody seriously, and scream about
freedom of speech....we have always had it, and it is unquestioned,
undisputed, it just is.

We speak our mind.

hence I feel there are vast cultural differences, and an essence of
prejudice towards Kariz...

I take great exception to nurjoyce's snide comment of "uneducated, so
you will never be a leader".

It is very rude, and inappropriate in my eyes.

Yeah... calling someone uneducated is the least of the insults I see
around here on a regular basis.

I am only speaking in my own opinion...and my own observations, and yes
Fred is sometimes 'off' with his swearing, and profanities, no dispute
there.

As far as I have experienced, here in my home town, with American
visitors, and also, within American based sites, we were always given
equal respect, no matter what the nationality.

We are a race of tongue in cheek humour...sometimes, it is hard to
grasp...even I took a while to grasp KariZ's messages, his intents...
