Do people actually get married this way. I understand the looking for the same thing and maybe not wanting to hook up because you want more of a commitment but "I am looking for a marriage." Shouldnt you just be dating till you find a match then you will know. I have never been married and love being single, so maybe I am biast because of this I dont know. It just sounds so unnatural almost forced. Is this a turn on to people? When you see " LOOKING FOR MARRIAGE " do you click?

some people do it just to scare away the booty calls and likewise annoyanceslol...but theyre are some crazies that really think you have one convo your going to get married i guess im dating this guy who added me as a favorite and weve never spoken!!!haha buncha/mostly creepers up on this *****! but yeah if they put they want the happiness and commitment that marriage is supposed to bring and they find someone else who sees up front what they are eventually getting to and they end up talking how is that forced?..its not considered forced because your on a dating site instead of just meeting friends in real life???...

they probably mean that the end result of dating is marriage.

i'm sure no one expects to get married within days of chatting with a person online.

i'd rather click on a profile with a man who is 'seeking a woman for marriage' than one whose says 'seeking a woman for an intimate encounter'.

i'll take values and morals over being nothing more than an easy lay.

whoa scared rofl

Cold coolin at a bar, and I'm lookin for some action
But like Mike Jagger said, I can't get no satisfaction
The girls are all around, but none of them wanna get with me
My threads are fresh and I'm lookin def, yo, what's up with L-o-c?
The girls is all jockin at the other end of the bar
Havin drinks with some no-name chump, when they know that I'm the star
So I got up and strolled over to the other side of the cantina
I asked the guy, Why you so fly? he said, Funky Cold Medina

This brother told me a secret on how to get more chicks
Put a little Medina in your glass, and the girls'll come real quick
It's better than any alcohol or aphrodisiac
A couple of sips of this love potion, and she'll be on your lap
So I gave some to my dog when he began to beg
Then he licked his bowl and he looked at me and did the wild thing on my leg
He used to scratch and bite me, before he was much much meaner
But now all the poodles run to my house for the Funky Cold Medina

You know what I'm sayin?
I got every dog in my neighborhood breakin down my door
I got Spuds McKenzie
Alex from Stroh's
They won't leave my dog alone with that Medina, pal

I went up to this girl, she said, Hi, my name is Sheena
I thought she'd be good to go with a little Funky Cold Medina
She said, I'd like a drink, I said, Ehm - ok, I'll go get it
Then a couple sips she cold licked her lips, and I knew that she was with it
So I took her to my crib, and everything went well as planned
But when she got undressed, it was a big old mess, Sheena was a man
So I threw him out, I don't fool around with no Oscar Meyer wiener
You must be sure that the girl is pure for the Funky Cold Medina

You know, ain't no plans with a man
This is the 80's, and I'm down with the ladies
Ya know?
Break it down

Back in the saddle, lookin for a little affection
I took a shot as a contestant on _The Love Connection_
The audience voted, and you know they picked a winner
I took my date to the Hilton for Medina and some dinner
She had a few drinks, I'm thinkin soon what I'll be gettin
Instead she started talkin 'bout plans for our weddin
I said, Wait, slow down, love, not so fast says, I'll be seein ya
That's why I found you don't play around with the Funky Cold Medina

Ya know what I'm sayin
That Medina's a monster, y'all
slaphead tongue2 rofl

I figure she's looking for serious dating, looking for a husband.
Not looking to date anyone whose not serious about a relationship.

Means that for those people long term relation = getting married.

I want a woman to share my life and always hope she will be with me for the rest of my life but i do not want marriage, it is not an institution i believe in so if a lady writes she is looking for man for marriage then even if we are both looking for a lifetime partner and we both want the same end result but in a different avenue I would respect that and not bother her for a relationship.

Some people are looking for a long term relationship, but don't want to get married and that is a deal breaker for a lot of folks.

All women want to be honoured and respected and if they are honest they will even admit to wanting to be aware that they are the single most important person in that man's life. Perhaps in times past men went off to do great deeds to impress their ladies and thereby prove themselves worthy of such a wonderful "prize". Now we just sit around and banter about pros and cons and profound banalities. If a man or a woman wants to be in a relationship and seals that relationship with a lawful contract, great, wonderful. If they want to show their community/commonwealth that they are together and throw a party, great, wonderful. In essence they are the same thing surely. An affirmation to each other and their community that they share a togetherness.
Shame about the times past having gone, I rather fancy going off to slay dragons and win a fair damsels' hand.

A lot of people have that in their profile.. men and women. Their saying that they are open to marriage. That's how I understand it when I see it anyway.

It is important for a woman to let a man know what she is looking for from the beginning. Well and the same applies to the man.

If she is looking for a booty call and he is looking for a LTR, crossed wires can mean hurt feelings.

Semantics, my friend. There's something about "words" that brings out the best and worst in all of us...especially when it's written and not spoken. Often hard to get the tone and inflection, the wit or anger...even with the little smiley icons. We all interpret words and the posting here and elsewhere through the filters of our individual experiences. Thus, that's why someone will say something in all innocence and suffer a rant from someone else...Or, past a rant...and get bewildered responses.

Just look at the comments here to your post. They run from thoughtful to reactive...from humorous to somewhat angry...

We all have a frame of reference...it's interesting to see sometimes what can set us off or provoke the voice of reason.
