What do you thing about assisted suicide & why?

I think if a person has a clear mind, poor life quality & not a good
future for good health; they should be allowed to make a decision.
Think a doctor does need to be involved for consulting & making it a
clean, quiet choice.

It should be an individuals choice.

No question....when my Dad passed they asked my brother and I....they
said the only thing keeping him alive was the blood pressure
medicine!...Simple choice...alleviate the suffering!

yeah been there with 3 DNR orders before.....that was bad enough...it's
hard to stand by and watch someone suffer....I guess it is an individual
thing

its a personal choice

i completely disagree...

first, this places the physician in violation of the hippocratic oath.

second...if we allow such, who's to say that people won't be subtly
pressured to choose the easy way out, to not be a financial burden on
their family? or people that aren't quite all there...making this final
decision because it's given as an option?

it opens the way for extreme abuses of the medical system, of insurance,
and of the patients themselves. a slippery slope.

i'm off to work, have a beautiful day.

Personal choice for sure. Looking for some deeper thoughts.
Do you think doctors should be allowed to assist?
Should they be jailed if they do?

Personally no I don't think doctors should assist due to their oaths,
but I don't think they should be jailed either.

I don't think that he is doing anything wrong..he is not killing healthy
people that want to live and that have many years ahead of them..he is
sparring the sick and dying the pain and suffering that they experience
on a daily basis there are many dieases and defects that have no
cure..why should people have to live with the suffering if they do not
wish to?..the patients need to get with Dr.K and their relatives and
explain WHY they want it done and the families should not stand in the
way if the person is of sound mind they KNOW what they want.

In the old days, some people just walked away.
Some were cast out when they were a drain on the whole.
Does modern medicine have the right to keep us alive with all the
extreme measures when there is really little future.
I fully agree with the medical advances, but if I chose QUALITY of life.
Are not my orders more important, for it is ME.

I think it's your choice,he should of never been locked up to begin, all
he did was help those people from suffering.

Yes, I think everyone should have that right. I work in hospice care and
see people suffering for months unnecessarily before they die. I do
think family health care providers of the persons choice (not
necessarily MDs) should be included in helping with the decisions. At
this time I believe only the State of Oregon allows this.

I agree also. In my opinion I dont think he should have ever been
arrested for anything he has done. Big brother should have stayed out of
it. He was only helping people that had poor life quality and a dismal
health future. I commend him on his work.

My docs know nothing anyways..lol..they are always asking me what I want
or if I know what is wrong with me..If I wanted to use Dr.K my docs
probably wouldnt object..one less patient means less work for them..lol

here in the Netherlands euthanasia is legal.

regardless...I am in total support of FREEDOM OF CHOICE.

for any person's body, the choice is theirs.

with abortion
with euthanasia
with preferred medicine
and the list goes on.....

i hear americans SCREAM ABOUT THEIR FREEDOM!! but i don't see it.

what good is freedom of speech
the right to form an assembly
the right to vote for the PRESIDENT of your choice and expect that those
votes will MEAN SOMETHING. (unlike what happened when Bush stole the
office of the President in the first election)

what good are all thee freedoms if in reality they are a myth???

when OJ can buy his way out of a murder rap.
when justice has a pricetag

oh get me goin!laugh

EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE GOVERNANCE OVER THEIR OWN BODIES.
