| Topic: Why i do not warm up to internet characters so easily. | |

I have learned the hard way not to get too involved with the people on internet social networking sites, communities, gaming forums etc....Maybe this is why i come off sort of cold. I had a good bunch of friends on a site where we played golf everyday for 6 years and made darn good friends. We were partners for BestBall Tournaments, and would play daily. Then 1 Friday eve we had a Bestball Tournament set up for that evening. Around 5pm there is a post in our forum that "so & so got killed in an accident. So and so was my partner in golf. Yes i shed some tears. A week later he appears.
Ho Lee Kow, my mind was racing, what to do? To this day and it's been over a year i can not play that game anymore. I try but it's no fun. What would you do if a good internet friend betrayed you in this manner? Bob Out |

Have had the same thing happen what did I do I moved on sure when someone says that someone died now what do I do I research it. If they can't give me the proof I don't believe it sorry that is reality...But I do not let it interfere with everyone I meet there are plenty that are genuine........

Bury them under my stoop...I think it is fitting, of course I hardly need a reason to bury anyone under my stoop...but that is another story all its own...

On his azzz! Make em hit the ground hard!! I had that problem too But I learned fast who to trust and who not to My social group on line are those who really came to know me for who I am and these people I know would never be cruel to me That wasn't nice at all!!

Bury them under my stoop...I think it is fitting, of course I hardly need a reason to bury anyone under my stoop...but that is another story all its own... That's what i did. He will try to call me on the phone, text me, Skype me etc. He feels he did nothing wrong. To this day i say RIP. P.S. What really sux is that the management of the Gaming site still allows him to play. "He's frigging DEAD!" How can he play? They had all the posts from His S.O. and other players grieving etc. |

Bob Out Hummm well we were told by whom was suppose to have been the girls sister then there was a case where one had posted that another one that was suppose to be friends with her that her daughter was kidnapped... Well I have my sources as well and contacted the police department in the area no such kidnapping took place no reports ever filed ect.........Some are mental and will say and do anything for attention.... Sorry show me the proof .....specially on the internet Now if I have met them in real life that is a different story.....those I casually talk with I take things with a grain of salt you can't believe everything others say but you can't let it keep you from interacting with others either

Sorry to hear that, what I would do is move on there was nothing that could be done. Don't hold it against everyone. I know it's hard to play the game you both played. Why don't you play it in memory of your friend.

We used to video cam and play golf. Sometimes we just used TeamSpeak, but it was like being in the same room with these folks. I thought i knew this guy, 6 years and thrown out for what? I did meet some of my Friends from this gaming site in Palentine ILL. We had a riot, especially putting faces to the players. It was hilarious. Glad i did not go to the Meet and Greet in Florida. He was there. |

Obviously, he didn't value the friendship, so I'd figure screw him. If he ever tried to talk to me again, I'd block him.
