1)
"A" often means simply 'not' -- so Atheist means "not theist"!
2) an atheist is just one letter away from a btheist
But What the_hell "b" means? ? ? -- For the same reason, What's a Ctheist, or Dtheist, etc.? ? ? |

I've been called an atheist but for me that paints a picture of a non-spiritual person. I am definitely not that. I believe in "God" and I define "God" as "That which is." I exist, therefore my closest experience of "God" is myself. I believe in myself therefore I believe in "God" by that definition. Yes, I am God. So why do people mistake me for an atheist? You are an atheist if you believe you are god because you do not believe in a separate entity or entities who control things and us or whatever. I too do not see an atheist as spiritual but I think Massage explained it one day very well that that is not correct. |

Yes, I am God. So why do people mistake me for an atheist? because God is an Atheist a God worship no other Gods and a God follow no religion or have no need to be spiritual ..that's why they are Atheists .... sorry JennieBean but if you have a need to be sprirtual then you are not God or an Atheist ....you're religious |

I too do not see an atheist as spiritual
This is so common, and I think its because there such a very high correlation between 'those who are atheist' and 'those who are materialist' - not to mention 'rationalist' and 'empiricist'. But none of these four categories requires the person be a member of the other categories. What's a AmassagetradeIST IS?
To answer that question, we first have to know what a 'massagetradeist' is. Then an AmassagetradeIST is anyone who isn't that. Ah. God is an atheist.
Wux is often joking, but some people make this argument in all seriousness. I don't buy it; if there is a God (in the sense that that a 'theist' usually means the word...), and if God believes that God exists, then I think God is a theist. sorry JennieBean but if you have a need to be sprirtual then you are not God or an Atheist ....you're religious
Oddly enough, there are many who are both atheist and in some way religious. You will find them amongst the Buddhists, the Unitarians, the Jewish to name a few groups. Funches, I just checked your profile and was surprised that you put 'non-religious' instead of 'atheist' - I had thought you were a rationalist materialist atheist who believed that all atheists ought to also be rationalist materialists. |

If I understand you correctly, then you are technically a Deist. Definitley not an Atheist.

Spirituality to me is the person who believes that there is a deeper level to humans than just the physical realm. It has nothing to do with religion as it does not come from outside of our bodies. Religion is a belief in forces outside of ourselves that control us at some level.
Atheists can have this level of belief or sense but most do not seem to have it. I have discovered through my own experiences that atheists for the most part are more moral than the religious. Atheists also seem to be more humane than the religious. This is opposite of how we are taught things should be. |

Who cares call me whatever you want.
I do not hold beliefs in bronze age mythology, or navelfocusingchigooglequantumfluxmysticmassage therepy being a cure all. I just don't buy into things that cannot be demonstrated to be true. |

Deist, Atheist, For, Against, etc.
The only reason we're stuck at this discussion is because the greater part of Humanity still hasn't discovered the concrete truth! (just as the origin of the Deist phenomenon itself has appeared in an attempt of explaining the UNEXPLAINED -- due to the lack of knowledge). Yet, the general tendency appears to be leaning towards the Atheism -- the less of the Unexplained remains, i.e. the farther we grasp the nature, the less of Deity remains. And the same reffers to the spiritual side of humanity! (as much as we pride ourselves for being "SPIRITUAL BEINGS"...} Eventually, when "the lack" would completely separate from knowledge, there would be no need for such a psychological cratch as Deity! |

If I understand you correctly, then you are technically a Deist. Definitley not an Atheist. technically I'm me, only to those that choose to have a religious belief do I then become an Atheist...Atheist is not a label I place upon myself, Atheist was forced upon me by those that chose to be religious... |

Deist. Thomist. Atheist. Protestant. Catholic. Buddhist. These are all terms which separate us according to belief. So much for religion 'bringing us together'.

Cogito, ergo doleo ... "I think, therefore I am depressed" ...
or: Cogito cogito, ergo cogito sum ... "I think that I think, therefore I think that I am" ... Pick one from Column A, two from Column B ... |

I too have been called a Godless heathen....and my spirituality is most important to me. In order to "prove"...you'll have to be a scripture thumping hack. I've been told that as well.... I just tell those judgmental a$$ folks where to go and how to get there.... |

I guessed as much, but I think U is for those who are otherwise challenged. Learn to type words is my opinion. But.. oh well that's just me.
No certainly not just you. Netspeak is for lazy people because for them it's too challenging to type a few extra letters, or those otherwise intellectually challenged. It's fine when someone's using it on the phone texting but not on the net with a full keyboard... As far as religions go, they are all man-made and therefore inherently flawed. Religions need God but God doesn't need religion. . ![]() |
