Since Oct 2007 I've been laid off 3 times! So I got money from the govt. and went back to school 
I just got laid off in August and am going back to school. However, it doesn't put food on the table or pay the bills

I also am suffering from the ecomony first time in my life to be without a job...My knuckles are raw from beating on doors looking for work...My company also tried not laying off but yet they had to with another 25 or so to get the ax soon. bikerbabe63 hang in there.  Surely it has to get better soon, things couldn't get much worse..at least I hope they couldn't.

Sorry to those really feeling this economic bite in da arse; I have lost hours but still gainfully employed. Have made adjustments to my spending habits, cut out somethings altogether, so yes I am feeling it as well.

The last that I heard was that community colleges had programs for people laid off and mom's going back to work. You might want to call them and ask what program's they have now. Call the employment office, family services, and vocational rehabilitation too. I wish you luck.

yeah i am livin' with my retired dad and he is feeling the pressure. just told me he had to cancel out the newspapaper just to save some dough

Yep...laid off for a year and 1/2....unemployment ran out, lost my house, had to put my dog down because the family I am staying with could not accommodate her and she was too old for anyone to want...have sold nearly everything I owned for food, etc....and thinking that if I had to live in my car...I would probably get a flippin' parking ticket!
It has to get better sometime

MisKim323 I am so sorry.... My story doesn't even compare to the hardship you are dealing with....wish I had some words of enlightenment, but sorry I am just at a loss for words right now.

I feel your pain, as I am going through hard times as well. The important thing is that you shouldn't blame your employer, as he is simply responding to the market condition, which is currently being destroyed by government and Federal Reserve policies. Good luck to you. |

Good luck to you. No I don't blame my employer, they avoided this laid off for the better part of a year....it was inevitable, wasn't a big surprise. They hung in there a lot longer than I thought they would. |

Please hang in there.. I look at what I am going through and I do realize that I am one of the lucky ones...I have wonderful friends that exchange housework for food and shelter and I have a wonderful life that I am heading to soon, so all is not lost and God IS looking out for me. |
