So I went out with this guy last weekend... Turns out he wasn't really my type but he was super nice and we were having fun so I just rolled with it. A few lil things he said kinda bothered me but my friends that were there and met him too said "oh just give him a chance. He's just nervous." blah blah blah So I listened to them and tried to talk myself into giving him a chance. He calls me today to let me know he didn't feel a spark and he's sorry but we can be friends. I told him good luck and take care. It's kinda annoying now that I talked myself into it that he backed out I should listen to myself more often Let it go, your first impression "few things he said........" were your signs, just like stop and go on the road, follow the signs

His nerves may have been his expression that there wasnt chemistry. The gut isnt ALWAYS right, but sometimes simple honest verbal communication can clear the air about whats really underneath.
