I would not make it as president since i would not make a huge effort to deliver pretty speeches. Instead i would like to point out where out system fails, and why. Then i would concentrate on exposing corruption.

However, if given the opportunity i would like to complete a full government audit, which was brought up earlier.

Then I'd try to encourage the majority of issues be habndled by the state instead of the Federal Government.

As president, i would have a say in our foreign policy. My policy would involve removing our troops from 130 countries they are currently stationed in and bring them back home to focus more on defense.

Next i would try cutting departments, like the department of education, energy, and homeland security. Not sure how much influence i would have though...

Only if I'm allowed to dismantle the government.

It is, after all, better to be subjected to too much freedom, then too little of it...

And you need some big floppy ears so MAD magazine can do an honest parody of you shortly after or during the election.

Actually... if anyone here was a Mingle2 patient (client, funny farm resident) last September-November, I DID run for President... right here on Mingle2.

I noticed early on, when there were about ten losers on both sides of the Parties (ten Republican losers and ten Democrat losers) that we had ZERO options for a decent leader for the country... so... I stepped up to bat, acknowledging that I could DEFINITELY do a better job than any of the losers they had fighting it out in the primaries...

Then of course we were given two losers to vote for in November...

...so, I wrote in my own name when I turned in my ballot.

too much freedom = chaos,, too little freedom = slavery

Thank you for the compliment. You're a pretty good person too, IMO. I believe in Stateless society. This will take considerable time to achieve due to the fact that the State is so entrenched in the human psyche, so until humans reach that enlightened state, I will settle for minarchism, especially as laid out in the Articles of Confederation and the Declaration of Independence.

There is no such thing as too much freedom, for free people do not normally desire chaos. When such a person arises, he is quickly subdued. (we can see this in American history, as Rothbard explains here-http://www.lewrockwell.com/rothbard/rothbard107.html and of course the American Western frontier.)

drinker Thats undestandable.drinker But society does need a central leadership. Perhaps the problem isnt so much our goverment as it is the people themselves. You got to admit that a lot of Americans are barely sane in their opinions about how the world should be. The people elect the goverment. Maybe that is the heart of the problem. However,I cant bring myself personally to give up on democracy.

I blame the media and the Administration for the ignorance of the public . I tell you this : I said time and time again " how can anyone know anything about politics and elect G.W. Bush not just once but twice as their president ? ."....!.

I would get too frustrated with Congress to make a good President.
I would make a great dictator.

I would balance the budget.
Make the US energy self sufficient.
Improve education to the best in the world.
Turn the criminal element into fertilizer.
Treat other countries according to their actions and intentions.

Why not? None of the founders believed in democracy (which is why they chose a Republican form), and neither democracy nor Republic have proven successful in protecting individuals in the long run. Even under the best of circumstances, like in America, government always turns bad, as has been illustrated by Molyneux, Rockewell, Hoppe, and Kinsella (to name a few).

 Actually,The founders did believe in democracy. But they also believed in moderation because they realized that a lot of the people are wackjobs. That is why the U.S. was founded as a DEMOCRATIC republic. Not meaning to give you a history lecture therebigsmile But its not accurate when certain people try to say this country was only a republic. The Founding Fathers talked a LOT about democracy(and as men of the Enlightenment believed in it). Read their transcripts.drinker Again, not trying to "school" you. You are actually on the right path about a lot of thingsbigsmile

The rights of the individual extend only as far as his ownership. For example, I don't have any say over you because I don't own you. Likewise, no one in this country has any legitimate say in what happens in Iran (or any other country), for example. If Americans want to tell other countries what to do, they should invest in those countries and become shareholders. That's what China did-they are heavily invested in dollars, and they now have a HUGE say in what happens here. (this is another case for the gold standard/free market currency/barter, btw)
