When I was younger, I was into clothes and stuff, but now I really don't care, as long as I'm comfortable.

After just spending three days with a nude professorial academic....I would say ANY clothes would maketh the man!
Don't get me wrong....people can be whatever they choose to be in my books....however, somehow attempting to have an educated discussion on the psychological aspects of the post feminist society we mere mortals reside in....can be a little errr...'distracting'...especially when said academic gets a little 'excited'... |

Personally, I have a passion for natural fibres...hemp, cotton, wool, cashmere, alpaca...all the yummies...
and I have a penchant for hand dyed slips in beautiful marbled colours.. |

I don't care about the price or the brand of my clothes. But, I care a great deal about the fit. I will pay extra for a better fit and I will take poorly fitting clothes to a tailor.
Most of my best oxford (I don't wear button downs) shirts come from a second hand men's clothing store. I know they once sold for upwards of $120, but I get them for $15. They always have to go to a tailor which costs about $15 more. My paints are another story. I have a 34" waist and a 36" inseam. Sometimes I can find Levis in my size, but most of the time I have to buy the high end jeans like Luckys. Capri pants just don't work on men. I watch for sales too. I have a velvet blazer I only paid $20 for that was marked down from $200! Whenever I wear it the women can't keep their hands off it. |

I'm a clothes horse...but brands don't impress me per se. I like the look and feel of certain clothes...all natural fabrics, tropical wight wools, cashmere, linen, cotton. Italian fabrics and designs. I dress casual most of the time...but buy quality for casual of dress. I have some dress shirts with french cuffs that I've had eight to ten years...incredible fabrics, hand sewn button holes...laundered a hundred times...look brand new. I like to look nice for me. I've always traveled and when overseas...I dress as a matter of respect to those in other cultures...and I am teated well. First impressions count...in any cuture...any language. But to each his own. But I never buy anything because it's been dictated by some style maven. I still wear DB blazers and suits because I like them and think they look good on me rather than a three-button job.

I guess by some definition I'd be a clothes horse. I dress nicely for work, and I have a lot of clothes. But like so many here, I rarely pay full price for anything. I love good sales and especially clearance sales. I dress for myself, I buy the things I like and that look good on me, regardless of the tags. But I do look for good quality.

The name brands have no importance at all.. but i have gotten, and stuck to certain brands because i like the styles, and they are made well, allthough not prestigious brands.
