Topic: TODAY- Goals in your walk?

What did you accomplish today with the Lord? Are there any goals you
have in your walk with the savior?

This thread is meant to be peaceful. Here we can help eachother get to
our own individual goals.

For once let's discuss with no debate and keep all negative statements
to yourself. We're human and we make mistakes occasionally...all is
forgotten and forgiven.

Hmmmmmm, I haven't really thought about it like that.
Lets see, I am a work in progress, therefore I am just a baby in the
ways of the Lord. I wish to learn more of His ways and become more
Christ-like in my own behaviors. I wish to make known His word to as
many as ask or will listen. I wish for more and better understanding of
what He wants from us and do so.
What I acomplished today for my Lord, was I posted something on His
behalf. With the hopes that I did good.

I’m trying to learn mathematics and music, but chores seem to be what
god wants me to do because chores get in the way. I don’t have the
luxury of setting goals. My life is already planned out for me
evidently.

Thankyou for posting Abra :)

I played the piano for about year or two. It was fun. Music is fun :)

My sister bought me a video music course from The Teaching Company for
my Birthday last Saturday. So I’ve been watching that at night when I
go to bed. It’s a pretty heavy course, if I actually learn everything
that’s in it I’ll know a lot about the technical aspect of music. It’s
teaches all the different ‘keys’ which they actually call ‘modes’
nowadays. And it's a pretty in-depth course. It consists of sixteen
45-minute lectures on 4 DVDs.

Unfortunately I’ve had a terrible migraine for about the past four days
so I wasn’t able to get much from the course yet. I did manage to watch
it though, but certainly not ‘study’ it. My migraine has only just
begun to ease up today. So I’m finally starting to feel better.

I’ll have to sit down and begin to study this course in more detail
taking notes. Like I say, it’s a pretty in-depth course. If I learn
everything that’s in it I should be able to begin composing my own
music. This course not only teaches all of the ‘keys’ but it also
teaches several methods of ‘modulation’ (moving from one key to another
within a piece of music).

So check back with me about a year from now and I’ll let you know if I
actually learned anything. (ha ha)

that sounds interesting and alot of fun :)

Do you wish to write music? What instrument do you want to play? I'm
guessing the piano?

Pray about those migraines. They're already starting to go away

I play the piano, violin, guitar and harmonica. I’ve been thinking
about trying either a flute or clarinet (just because I would like to
try a wind instrument). I’d actually prefer a clarinet, but flutes are
a lot cheaper. (ha ha)

I’ve already written some music. The following is a link to a midi file
of the very first piece I ever wrote. It’s very short and crude, and I
wrote this the same day that I bought my first keyboard. So I was
musically clueless. It's in the key of C and 4/4 time with almost all
quarter notes. But for someone who doesn’t know what he’s doing I think
it turned out not too bad.

My first piano composition:

I am slowly learning that when I set goals for myself I must allow a lot
of room for change. God has goals of his own for me and they don't
allways coincide with the ones I want.

It becomes quickly obvious who's goals are more important His or mine.

True AB LOL. God's will and goals are always number one. When I posted
this forum I was thinking about our personal goals a believer may have
to walk closer and stronger with the Lord.

It's OKAY to have goals that will improve your relationship with the
savior. That's normal but not to do it at an extent to where it's
selfish.

Abra you're very versatile in the music category..O_o You play 4
instruments. Once you finish music, you should go out there and perform.
Have fun with it :)

From my job's point of view it is a study into the difference of demon
possesion and dementia. From my personal walk it is helping others like
myself overcome drugs and alcohol.

Thanks BC. I don't plan on performing though. My only interest is in
composing, not performing. I'll let others who are better musicians do
that.

I should add that I don't really 'play' any of these instruments. It's
more like I just 'play around' with them.

I defintely do not consider myself to be a 'musician'. This is all just
a 'closet hobby' for me. :o)

Although, I would like to play with other people in backyard
get-togethers. I wouldn't think of that as 'performing' though. Just
more like 'playing around'.

I build 3D Virtual worlds. I am currently working on one that should be
completed in about 6 months. It is fun and challenging.

I have made 3 of them so far this will be the fourth one.

Abra yeh it doesn't have to be a BIG PRODUCTION to perform. That would
be fun to "play around" with neighbors. Let me rephrase that, to play
music or joke around with neighbors :) LOL

Everything I see in the real world can be placed in a Virtual world
(depending on computer memory).

It can take months to place all the grass, trees, rocks and stuff for a
single outdoors scene. You even have to set up the lighting and where
shadows will fall. Then you have to make models of animals and people
and such things and write code to animate them.

that's cool..what kind of people or animals do you use?

LOL do you make your own up?
