The Jehovah wildernesses rang my door constantly in the UK two older ladies from Caribbean origin
I got fed up with it and one morning when they rang I deliberately opened the door wearing a very brief brieflaugh
I invited them in saying I have been having an orgy and would they like to join?
They ran a mile
the next week they passed my house and didn't ring the bell
I went out and told them they forgot to ring my bell
That was it they were never seen in the neighbourhood

That was Great! so funnylaugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

That is so funny. I have a sure fire method to keep them from my door, or anyone with a religious agenda. I display a pentacle on the door.

For some reason they think that is the sign of the devil. (Its not.)

Years ago in early Christian History, the pentacle was displayed (BY CHRISTIANS) to keep evil away. It was to keep witches away.

Well, today it works for religious solicitors like a charm. What does that tell you?

That tells me JB that it keeps the evil away. It keeps those away, the evil people away.

That's what I thought.

I think a religion that tries to control people to the extent that one does is not good because it apposes freedom of choice and does not trust the Law of Karma (The Law of the Universe).

I am going to be the odd lady out here. I have family who are JW and I have friends. Much like any Christian Faith, there will be all types of interpretations within the denomination of the correct way to live and treat others. You will have fanatics in every religion but you will also have good people and Im not so quick to assume any religion has more of one than the other. I know witnesses who are very exclusive in whom they associate with but I know others who are very warm and welcoming to everyone.

I agree. I do know people who are witnesses and they are extremely good and responsible people. I do notice in some that they seem to need that kind of structure and guidance or else they would be 'wild ones.'+ People tend to gravitate to belief systems that work for them.

By saying that I think the religion is wrong, I am not talking about the people that are caught up in it. I don't like Christianity, but I know tons of wonderful people who are Christians.

God's name is "YAHWEH" and it has explained it several times in the Hebrew text. I'm studying with a Jehovah Witness to see what their views and perspectives are. I know that I was encouraged by calling His name Jehovah but I feel more comfortable calling Him Yahweh instead.

you are right in calling him Yahweh. I have seen i believe it is the Watch Tower Mag in 1963 that the Home office of 70 or whatever that they said yes his name is Yahweh. But we would be confusing the people if we used that name. Yet the JW's are built on using a false name.

I had some stop by my house and they decided to go get thier minister and him and someone else wshowed back up and I asked him doesn't saying Christmas and Easter are Pagan confuse the people? He said well they already know that just refuse to change.

So I told him the Heavenly fathers name is ok to give him another but pagan names for festivals is not. He left..Go Figure..Shalom....Miles

So how do you know that this is God's name?

What makes your name for God more accurate than anyone else's?

I heard once that the unknown name of God was Hu. bigsmile

The Paleo Hebrew letters (YHWH) for his name can be found all over the world. Hebrew does not have vowel letters but Vowel points.

The letters YHWH is what I AM That I AM is when he said this is my name. Through the Vowel points on the letters is how we get the pronuciation of Yahweh and thier is very little disagreemwnt that it is pronounced Yahweh or Yah way is how it is actually pronounced.

The Way is Yahweh.

In a New Mexico State park the name they have found the Paleo Hebrew letters YHWH. Dating to around 1300bc.

How did these letters get here except the Indians knew who he was and quite frankly they seem to have incorporated his name in thier language.

The antient Persions wrote of Yahweh and called his people Yahweh's wisdom. This is where Yahwists comes from meaning Yahweh's wisdom.

The Hebrew letters for YHWH are common all over the world and we see Yahshua being incorporated in to many religions as one of thier great prophets. They would of known who Yahweh was to want Yahshua which means Yahweh saves. The Poetic for of his name is Yah. Like our last names our family names.

A few prophets who had his name and great meaning to his name but a i or a J was put in thier instead to make the name almost meaning less. To take away who and what this persons purpose was. Like

Elijah is really EliYah it means My Elohim is Yahweh Who is suppose to come back to change the hearts of the children to the father and the father to the children?

Do people understand the meaning in this name when it is written Elijah?

we have IsaYah

ZecharYah

and on and on just like the sons names meaning Yahshua This is how we know who the creator of the Heavens and the Earth is.

This is How Yahweh always defines who he is compared to any other dietie. The commandments spell it out right away who he is by what he has done. Everything.. Blessings.of Shalom..Miles

Thanks miles.

Concerning the above, I was under the impression that Indians never had any form of written language or letters, so if those letters were there they may not have been from new mexico Indians. Do they know how old they were?

very true

i have known witnesses

and still know some

some are cool (in a social way)

and some a smug and arrogant

they are no different than any other group of people

you got your good bad and ugly

just the proportion ratio may be different

hey i will even admit going to a few of their meetings over an eight yer period

and like every other religious cult (are organized religions are cults imo) they have their on point things and their out in left feild points

but hey what do i know
